Did you check that it qualifies and complete the QBI section? in the info section of the K-1 did you enter at least 1 line of the QBI info so TurboTax would later ask for all relevant QBI data.  This forum has no access to your return or K-1, so we can't see what you are doing wrong.

There is no place to enter box 7. If you have a 529 plan, the plan administrator almost always provides you the amounts in boxes 2 and 3 of the 1099-Q.  However, many ESA plan administrators do not provide that info. You have to calculate the earnings portion of the distribution.  The plan administrator will usually provide you the year end balance in the account, sometimes in the blank box underneath boxes 5 and 6 and label it box 7, with this note: "7. If the fair market value (FMV) is shown below, see Pub. 970, Tax Benefits for Education, for how to figure earnings."

In TurboTax, you do not typically "open" Form 5329 manually. Instead, the software generates it automatically based on your answers to specific interview questions regarding retirement distributions or excess contributions.    To get Form 5329 to appear in your return, use one of the following methods depending on your situation:   1. If You Have a 1099-R (Early Withdrawal/Earnings)  If you are reporting a 10% penalty (or an exception to it) from a withdrawal: Go to Federal > Wages & Income. Find Retirement Plans and Social Security and select Start/Revisit next to IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R). Enter your 1099-R data exactly. Continue through the follow-up screens until you reach "Let's see if we can reduce your early withdrawal penalty". This interview section is what triggers Form 5329.  2. If You Have Excess Contributions If you are filing because you contributed too much to your Roth IRA: Go to Federal > Deductions & Credits. Scroll down to Retirement and Investments and select Start/Revisit next to Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions. Enter your contribution details. If your contributions exceed the limit, TurboTax will ask about your excess and automatically generate Form 5329 to calculate the 6% penalty.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.    Your refund could be offset. The IRS and State Governments have the ability to offset a refund to pay for certain past due debts.  You generally will receive a letter stating what the offset was for.    The IRS provides a toll-free number, (800) 304-3107, to call for information about tax offsets.   Here are a few FAQs to help you track your refund: When will I get my federal tax refund? How do I track my state refund? Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"? Why do some refunds take longer than others? What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?

You can change the email address associated with your account through your account settings.   Intuit uses a single sign in system for all Intuit products, so changing it here will also update it for any other Intuit products you use, such as QuickBooks or Credit Karma.   To Change Your Email Address: Select Intuit Account located in the lower-left corner of your screen (near the Sign Out button). On the Account Manager page, select the Sign in & security menu. Select the Email address section. Enter your new email address and then enter it again to confirm. Enter your current password when prompted to verify the change. Select Save. Check your new email inbox for a verification link from Intuit and click it to finalize the update. If you can't sign in at all, you can go to the Intuit Account Recovery page. This requires you to upload a photo of a government-issued ID to verify your identity.

Thank you for the thorough explanation on helping me resolve this issue. So the only excess contribution I had occurred in 2024, with no additional contributions in 2025 for the 2024 year since I switched employers and they don’t have a HDHP for HSA. I did have a couple more questions, specifically on steps 3 & 4.   1. Extend your 2025 return NOW.   I’ll do this immediately. 2. Amend your 2024 return.   I’ll do this next since I need to correct the contribution amount in 2024, and that large amount will carryover into 2025. 3. Contact your HSA custodian and ask for a normal distribution of the 2024 excess amount.   When you said “Withdraw as much as you can” should I take a normal distribution of the amount I provided in my initial question, or more (my HSA balance has more) to cover capital gains/interests? I know you mentioned not to worry about earnings, but my HSA only keeps back $1k not invested, and the rest of the balance is being invested. 4. Wait a couple of weeks (like when you receive the check from the custodian for the step #3 distribution), and then contact the HSA custodian and ask for a "withdrawal of excess contributions" for your 2025 amount. Also ask them to calculate the earnings and include that in the distribution.   After the “normal distribution” to fix 2024 taxes, then would I contact HSA again to handle the “withdrawal of excess contributions” to fix the earnings portion of the carried over for the 2025 taxes? Is that correct? 5. You will eventually receive 1099-SAs for #3 and #4 - add both of these to your 2026 return.

If you’re paying taxes for your original return, you don’t need an invoice number. The North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR) has two payment portals: one for “Bills and Notices” that asks for an invoice number, and another for “Original Tax Returns” that only needs your SSN.    How to pay without an invoice number Since TurboTax does not provide an "invoice number" for a standard tax return, follow these steps to pay correctly:   Go to the NCDOR Payment Page: Visit the NCDOR Individual Income Tax Payment page. Select "Pay Original Tax Due": Do not select "Pay a Bill or Notice." Look for the link that says "Pay Original Tax Due (D-400V)". Enter Your Details: You will be asked for: Your Social Security Number (SSN). The Tax Year (e.g., 2025). The Payment Amount (found on your TurboTax summary). Where to find your payment details in TurboTax If you need to verify the exact amount or see the voucher TurboTax generated, you can find it in your "Tax PDF":   Sign in to TurboTax and go to your Tax Home. Scroll down to "Your tax returns & documents" and select "Download/print return (PDF)." Look for a form titled Form D-400V (North Carolina Individual Income Payment Voucher). This form will list the exact amount you owe, but it will not have an invoice number because you are paying the balance you calculated, not a bill the state sent you.

Some financial institutions will send a substitute form with more information than the Form 1099-Q can hold. Your box 7 will be something more specific to your situation and should be answered in the follow up questions. I am guess a rollover or transfer.   Meanwhile, the program wants box 1 to equal box 2 plus box 3. Match boxes 1 and 3 while leaving 2 at zero.
Thanks for replying. I'm way down the curve on this type of thing. I need to know what type is a "non taxable municipal bond in Oklahoma"? Also, does it qualify for "exclusion"?

Since tax year 2020, there is a difference between a License Code (for Desktop) and an Activation Code (for Online). This error code 606 means you are trying to enter a Code for TurboTax Online into desktop software (or vice versa).   We understand, sometimes, this can be confusing, but on the box (or on the retailer website), you have to choose between TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop. They are not the same software and code, so one cannot be used in the other one.   If on the box it's TurboTax Online, you can activate your code in your account on this link.  Link: https://shop.app.intuit.com/activate?rootProfile=ca&locale=en-ca   If on the box it's TurboTax Desktop, you can download/install your software from this link. link: https://turbotax.intuit.ca/tax/software/download   If you bought the wrong version, you can get a refund and then buy the one you need. by using this form to get a refund. Make sure to add a clear photo of your receipt, showing the name of the store, the date, the product bought, and the price paid.   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Selecting the "not at risk" option should not delete your vehicle depreciation entries. That would just limit your business loss deduction.   You can see and edit your business vehicle use entries by updating/ editing your business vehicle entries in the business section.
