@Sally20_00 , great that your return got "Accepted" for processing by the IRS.  After processing and once the  refund amount is approved you will probably get a  CP-53E from the IRS asking you to provide a bank account.  Per the executive  order in Jan25, IRS is moving away from issuing paper checks. If you do not  respond  to the notice or do not open a bank account, IRS will indeed ( at least this year ) issue a paper check -- will take  a while ( they quote six weeks ). If you do not open an account  with your own name, the bank will not accept a check in your name and will  return the deposit back to the IRS, which will then issue a check ( more time ). See the last paragraph of the ref. page below   Here is a ref. for the letter -->>Understanding your CP53E notice | Internal Revenue Service

You may need to update your browser settings and allow permissions.   See How to fix data import issues in TurboTax   What form, income, or data are you trying to import?   TurboTax has partnered with an extensive list of employers, payroll, services and financial institutions that offer import of customer tax documents directly into TurboTax.   I don't see Square on the partner list, but there is help for other types of income here.

Let's go through the possible issues: MS requires nonresident real estate sales pay 5% of the proceeds to the MS Department of Revenue at time of sale. This should be showing on your return for you to claim your refund. The 1099-S should be showing your 25% of the sale. Verify that you are only entering your one-fourth of the sale and expenses. Be sure you entered the stepped up basis to create the loss. It sounds like the basis is missing in the equation. You said proceeds minus expenses.   Follow these steps: Open to MS interview continue through answering question Income allocation - continue through Look for Capital Gain/ Loss Verify that you entered the MS portion of your capital loss. Look at your tax form 80-205 Line 13a MS AGI Line 13c MS % income - should be zero Line 19 MS taxable income Line 26 total MS tax withheld - this would be your share of the tax paid Line 30 total tax paid Line 31 refund Line 41 capital loss  Line 50 total income = the capital loss My last thought is that maybe tax was not withheld so you have to pay an underpayment penalty. I am sorry for your loss.

It sounds like you did your partner's tax return using your TurboTax Online account and now you are using a TurboTax Desktop program because you have a license code.  You can file up to five returns with the desktop program.   TurboTax Online editions do not require a license code; this code is only for the installed desktop software.   Open your TurboTax software on your computer, sign in to your Intuit account, and you will be prompted to enter the 16-character alphanumeric code (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) when you are prompted to do so. This will activate your software and verify your license code. You can find the code in your confirmation email, your box, or the software download page, depending on how you purchased it.   If the activation screen doesn't come up, you can select to  "Activate New Product" from your TurboTax "Help" menu.   You can contact TurboTax Customer Service using this link: Turbo Tax Customer Service.   How do I find my license code for TurboTax Desktop?   Please return To Community if you have any additional information or questions and we would be happy to help.

Additional Clarification --   Everything does and did show up correctly on my From 1040. It was when I amended the return the issue appeared on Form1040X on Line 15 column C. The Form 8839 still shows the correct credit of $17,280.00. $5,000.00 on Line 13 and $12,280.00 on Line 18. The Line 13 credit should automatically transfer to Line 15C on the 1040X but it doesn't, and switching to form view and trying to force the correct value disallows it from verifying.

You can skip the “Economic Stimulus – Qualified Property” checkbox if you don’t have a business or any business assets. It shows up because TurboTax may carry over old asset worksheets, even if they’re not relevant anymore. You may, however delete these worksheets if they exist in your return.   Option 1 — Delete the Asset Worksheet (Best if you have no business assets) Switch to Forms Mode (TurboTax Desktop).  Look for Federal Asset Entry Worksheet in the left panel. Open it. Click Delete Form at the bottom. Repeat if there are multiple asset worksheets. Also look for Depreciation Report,  This removes the business asset entirely—exactly what you want if you don’t have a business.   If using online, go to:    Click Tax Tools  Click Tools Choose Delete a form.  Federal Asset Entry Worksheet Asset Entry Wks Depreciation Report Or anything under Schedule C if you don’t have a business @tenamoon59

I finalized the 2024 amended return, and was hoping to get that 1st step complete with an electronic filing.  Unfortunately, it seems I have to snail mail the return.  Is there any reason the 2024 amended return needs to arrive at the IRS before my 2025 taxes (which will be electronically filed)?  Or will it eventually sort itself out?

If your grandparents are claiming you as a dependent, and you already filed your return claiming a dependent, you will need to file an amended return and mark that someone else can claim you as a dependent.  You will also need to remove the dependent that you claimed.      Before you amend, make sure that your original return has been fully processed by the IRS, this means that you have received your refund or that you have already paid if you had a balance.     To amend your return:   Log in to your TurboTax account Go to Tax Home On the FAQ's on the right side, select How do I amend my return? The option of Amend Using TurboTax will show, select it. The program will guide you as you make the changes necessary, you do not need to enter anything other than what you are changing.     How to File an Amended Tax Return with the IRS

@Shivbhugra  Namaste Shiv ji. Generally NO. IRS generally  sources the income to where the actual work was performed.  So if you are resident of Georgia  ( Tax-home Georgia ), , performed the work while in Georgia, then the  income is Georgia sourced.   You file a Georgia resident return covering this income. Note that some states are changing the tax laws to collect some tax on remote work.   Is there more I can do for you ?   Namaste ji

Thank-you for the attempt. That definitely does not work for me. I clicked edit and all of the information was already there. I even deleted it and re-entered the information from scratch with the same result. Strangely it shows an adoption credit for the full $17,280.00 on the form 8839, but on the 1040x line 15 column C, it shows up as blank, and it should say $5,000.00.   It is apparent to me this is a bug in Intuit's software, and I have updated to make sure a recent fix did not correct it, and it hasn't. With Intuit being such a software giant surely they can setup a remote session and help debug this thing directly. Maybe the bug only appears on certain hardware/OS configurations. In case it matters I am running Turbo Tax on Windows 11 (fully updated), on a Microsoft Surface with an ARM (Snapdragon) Processor.

Roth conversions are made in a particular year, not for a particular year.  A Roth conversion performed in 2026 is reportable on your 2026 tax return, not on your 2025 tax return.  Entering a substitute 2025 Form 1099-R for such a Roth conversion would be nonsensical because the Roth conversion did not occur in 2025.   Under the circumstances, only the traditional IRA contribution is reportable on your 2025 tax return.  Only Part I of your 2025 Form 8606 is to be prepared.  The amount that results on line 14 of your 2025 Form 8606 will carry forward to line 2 of your 2026 Form 8606 to be applied in calculating the taxable amount of your 2026 Roth conversion(s).
First time TT user so no 2024 data, but hopefully this will make 2026 easier.

@musicmaker1 , generally  and mostly people consider  the  difference between the cost of repair and insurance payment as an expense for the rental property --- say  the insurance judged the damage was 100,000 and they paid  you 80,000 for the claim. Then when  you get the repair done  you  paid 100,000 to a contractor. Thus you have a 20,000 that is repair expense borne by you and shows up on your Schedule-E. The assumption here is that by this repair you have restored the FMV of the house to that just prior  to the damaging event. by this repair. Ideally , if the FMV of the house has  gone up by the repair then to the extent the value has increased beyond that  just prior to damage, that amount needs to be declared as new asset and depreciated over the useful life of the asset.
