No.  You don't have to amend your tax return to report a corrected 1099-INT that reduces your tax liability by $30.  It is quite possible the IRS will recalculate your tax owed and send you a refund without amending.  If it were me, I wouldn't file an amended return.  As for filing back-to-back amended returns, it would not flag you or cause you any problems with the IRS.  Filing an amended return is just trying to make things right.  The IRS doesn't hold that against taxpayers.

You cannot efile the Massachusetts return with TurboTax if you filed separately for the federal.  It is just an unfortunate TurboTax limitation.  @williasp

I received a corrected 1099-INT for 2025.  I have already submitted my 1040 via TurboTax with the tax due to be paid via ACH on 4/1/26.  I saved my return under a new name, removed the old 1099-INT and downloaded the corrected one from my brokerage.  It resulted in $30 less of taxes.  I have to pay quite a bit in taxes this year and this refund is inconsequential to me.  Is there a way modify my submitted filling if it has already been accepted but the taxes have not yet been withdrawn from my account?  I'm inclined to just let this slide unless it will cause some other unforeseen complication.  One other point to consider is I realized this year I did not calculate cost-basis for ISOs I executed in 2024 correctly, so I have filed a 1040-X for 2024 which will result in a large refund because I essentially paid double-tax.  I'm concerned if I file amended returns back to back it will flag me somehow.  This was the first time I have ever had to amend a return.
I entered my wife's dates just as I did mine. Mine work. Her dates do not. How to fix?

@Polkadot1  would you be willing to reach back out to the rep who contacted you previously to let them know the problem is only partially resolved?  The software still does not allow multiple imports from the same account & institution without deleting all the previously-imported data.     I would be happy to work with that rep (or some other) in a productive way to provide any information they need to help resolve this.   Due to planned travel my personal tax deadline is 2 weeks earlier this year, so I'm quickly running out of time and may need to bail on TurboTax and try another product.   Side note on QA test cases-- I could envision how this slips through, since multiple imports during different timeframes does, in a way, work.  If all data imported perfectly and did not require any review or modifications, then sure, deleting and re-importing the same docs should be no issue.  TT does not seem to be taking into account the possible customer pain of imperfect imports that require even minor clean-up.  This wasted time adds up.

Thank you DianeW777.  I can't quite follow the instructions you sent below. I would like you to see my Form 4562. Is there another way I can show you my Depreciation schedule?  Kindly advise. Dchiang8

So we did another test on my son's TT.   We manually increased the 1099Q amount up to a much higher amount than the actual amount reported (+100K).  As long as we picked the option "someone else" received the 1099Q distribution, there is ZERO tax owed by him.   I thought TT would compare 1099Q and 1098T numbers to figure out if there are any "Excess" distributions from 529, then calculate the appropriate tax due?   Turbotax experts - please help with these questions.. thanks!!   HHP
