I'm in a similar situation to the original poster. It seems weird that the distribution from 401k to IRA and then the subsequent conversion from IRA to Roth is counted as 'income' twice. It's the same pot of money, so why does it appear in turbotax as double the income? For example if $5,000 was distributed from 401k to IRA then $5,005 is converted from IRA to Roth IRA, it shows up as $10,005 in income on turbotax  (I get it that the second conversion is taxable, but it's the same $5k not new money) In review the AGI includes the $10,005, however it would seem that the actual income is $5,005.

If your return has been transmitted and rejected by Maryland, you can correct your tax return and re-transmit.    If your return has been transmitted and accepted by Maryland, you will have to amend your Maryland income tax return.  However, before amending your tax return, do not enter the return and do not make any changes.   If you used TurboTax Online, log in to your account and select Amend a return that was filed and accepted.    If you used the CD/download product, sign back into your return and select Amend a filed return.    See also this TurboTax Help.

I have used Turbo Tax Online for many years.  This tax year (2025) the program is not carrying over my ongoing depreciating assets from the past, or  letting me see a record.  Therefore, I don't have a list of assets that are ongoing in their 5 or 7 year, etc., depreciation schedule.  I have copies of all my tax returns, but Turbo never provided the actual depreciation worksheets.  Help!  How can I get this information?

Okay - I sure wish Turbotax made this a bit clearer.  I was sort of expecting they would ask me to enter info in the Third Party Designee block, but even after adding my name as directed in the interested party section, it still fails to populate that block.  I have wasted three hours trying to figure out where in all of this e-paperwork they will know to contact me if there are any questions.  Turbotax really could do a better job talking through this scenario.

Was an update released to fix this issue?  I am currently stuck on entering a 529 distribution.  I have entered 1099-Q, entered the costs in 1098-T, and it is NOT correctly figuring out that the 529 distribution paid for room and board (and other things), leading to a huge tax bill.   I have to report the 1099-Q in my case because a small part of the distribution is in fact taxable, but not the amount that it has come up with.

I’m really frustrated with this situation and hoping someone can explain why there isn’t a way for anyone at TurboTax to manually remove or reset a duplicate flag. I’ve been trying to resolve this since Friday. I’ve spoken with multiple TurboTax support staff, been disconnected several times, and no one has been able to fix the issue. Here’s what happened: My state LLC return was accepted on Friday. My personal federal and state returns were rejected because I forgot to include my IP PIN. After correcting the IP PIN, I had to file my federal return separately. It was accepted However, the LLC keeps attempting to submit with the state return again, so TurboTax keeps flagging my state return as a duplicate. The system tells me to contact support to resolve it, but no one I’ve spoken with seems to know how to remove or reset this duplicate flag so I can e-file my state taxes. Why is there no manual way for support to clear this on the backend? At this point I just want to file my state return, but the system won’t allow it and support hasn’t been able to help. Also, what is the point of purchasing bundled filing if the system prevents you from completing the filings and no one can resolve it? I’d really appreciate someone who actually knows how to fix this or escalate it so the duplicate flag can be cleared and I can finish filing my state return.

For 2025 TurboTax for Mac deducts the premium on 1040 on one line and reports net income (without reduction for that premium), so income tax is not paid on that premium.   But I think  TT calculates SE tax without reducing earned income by that premium.  Why is net earnings not calculated by subtracting that premium?

Ref: macOS 26.3.1, TurboTax Desktop Deluxe 2025.r23.037   I’m at wits end trying to report IBIT and FBTC trivial de minimus expenses. No matter what I do, TTax keeps telling review needed. But no ‘errors’ reported. Following various threads, assured all ‘digital asset’ boxes not checked in Forms view for other transactions. Have deleted and started over 8 times wrt IBIT. Same results. Has anyone out there been able to make this work?
