You are forcing me to use Adobe.  I do not need it.  Now you want me to suscribe to something I do not need.   I had to use my email address on my cousins tax return in order to efile.  Will that present a problem when I file?

I started my 2025 taxes in TurboTax online but need to switch to desktop due to forms I need.    I am following the instructions from here but it does not work for me https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-product-orders/switch-turbotax-online-turbotax-cd-download/L8oxEJNu5_US_en_US   Where it does not work: the instructions say in TurboTax desktop select "Import from TurboTax Online". I do this but the selection is only for 2024 TurboTax Online taxes, NOT the 2025 one I have started. How do I import the unfinished 2025 TurboTax online to 2025 Desktop?
Yes, if you are U.S. citizen or resident alien, you are required to report your worldwide income every year.  See Publication 54, Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad.

This could be due to many things, such as a refund offset or an error such as a typo or a credit that was disallowed.  The best course of action would be to wait for the Notice of Adjustment the state will send you- this will explain any changes.     If you do not receive a notice of adjustment, you should contact your state's department of revenue here: How do I contact my state Department of Revenue?
I work for a Canadian company and go back to the states for about 6 weeks throughout the year.
My return was also accepted after using the trick by @IHateTurboTax.
Can you clarify what errors you are receiving?  We want to help but need more details.  @xcmb030503

I clicked on Upgrade TurboTax at the bottom right of the desktop program screen, but when it tried to save the current file, I got an error message that the file could not be saved because it was read only.   I interpret this as the file is currently open and in use and therefore cannot be saved.  I could be wrong.  But in any event, it prevents the upgrade. Is there another solution?

Thanks for your response. My Mac has an M2 pro chip (2023 mini Mac Pro). It’s not an intel chip that believe, it’s a silicon chip according to AI. Mac OS is 15.5 version.  my computer downloads to my desktop. Yes, a dmg file and when I click to expand (unzip), the extraction starts but stops at 97-98% and then says extraction failed. I’ve done it a number of times and removed the previous files before retrying. After reading online that some have the same message and then walked away and come back later and it has finished extracting, I tried that too. I found a folder on my computer that looked like 2025 TurboTax label. When I open the folder, one of 3 files is “2025 TurboTax app”. When I click to open it, it says “application cannot be opened” but no reason why. Yes, the downloaded file size sounds correct. I’ve disabled every possible app that can interfere plus disabled firewall, etc… always the same thing. So frustrated. I really don’t want to try H&R Block software again.  It aucked back in 2018! Help.

Enter your business vehicle expenses in the section Business Vehicle Expense if you are self-employed and completing a Schedule C. TurboTax provides entry boxes and questions to determine whether you should use actual expenses and depreciation, or use the standard mileage rate.     If you go directly to the Assets section instead, the program will present a list of assets that doesn't include vehicles.   If you checked the box "I stopped using this vehicle in 2025", the program will ask more questions to determine the disposition of the asset and how it should be treated on your return. You might check to see if you inadvertently checked the box to indicate you stopped using the vehicle for business, which would cause the question to pop up.   Since you said you didn't check the box, try exiting TurboTax, restarting your device, and logging in again to see if that resolves the issue.    See this TurboTax tips article for more information.

My quebec netfile doesn't allow me to file online but gives me option to send by mail.. however i did get a notice that said some forms were not finalized yet and i assume that maybe this could be the problem.. the only difference this year is i split my income with my wife and got a warning concerning withheld tax not reported from releve 2. I dont have any tax deductions/withheld on my paper slips. the forms in turbo tax show the J box empty and i cant enter the value (0.00). i'm assuming this might be a problem. It will add a value (0.01) a penny but since my federal file went thru if i use the penny trick it might create a problem. Now i dont know if its a turbo tax problem or a SCHEDULE Q problem. Tried going to the Schedule Q and using override but still not able to send as this 0 slash symbol appears over the file online option. Hope you can point me in the right direction. Thanks
Thank you Marilyn G for your help!!

Distributions of net realized short-term capital gains aren’t treated as capital gains. Instead, they are included on Form 1099-DIV as ordinary dividends."
