Desktop download can be used to prepare and e-file up to five federal returns and the state returns that go with them; and additional returns can be filed by mail.  You need Windows 11 or a Mac that meets the system requirements.   If you use online TurboTax, you get one return per fee, and you pay separate fees for federal and state.   Each return needs its own email, account and user ID. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/how-do-i-start-another-return-in-turbotax-online/00/25596 https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/file-your-own-taxes/

I don't see where the nominee process would be of any benefit, if it's even permitted.  Wouldn't doing a nominee of the income still require filing Form 1041 to remove the income from the estate?  The IRS still receives the original a Form 1099-R showing this as income to the estate which needs to be reconciled on the estate's tax return.   Also, I suspect that the Form 1099-R shows user17720250883 as executor, not as beneficiary.  The payer has no business knowing anything about estate beneficiaries.
I don’t have the expenses nor did I select them on my return, but I can’t file until this is fixed.

Thank you for the response. It doesn't let me enter a number for column B if column A is blank/0, so I am going to assume it would be blank too.    @MonikaK1
The Form 1040X is scheduled to be available on March 4.  The date is subject to change, so check on 3-4 to see if it is ready.   Before that, do not change anything at all on your return.
I wanted to know what software i can use to file more than 2 federal and state taxes.
Since I requested an update from Turbo Tax online for availability of 1040X; will we ever get updated?

No, the box 3 amount should not be listed in box 1. The amount in box 3 is  not being included in your income, it's specifically adding a 20% tax to your return as an 'Additional Tax' on line 17k of Schedule 2. If you are using TurboTax Desktop you can change to Forms and enter the tax in the appropriate line of your return.    @user17719742899

When your 2023 state return was rejected, you would have received an email that told you the return was rejected, with a rejection message or rejection code.  We cannot see the email you received two years ago.   But if the state return was not ever filed, the only way to file it now is by mail.   E-filing is closed for past year returns.   You need to print that WI return, sign and date it in ink, and mail it to the state.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.    But, if you signed up for the 5 Day Early product, you should receive your refund deposited 5 days prior to the date indicated by the IRS, assuming all conditions are met.     If you don't get your deposit 5 days early, there's a few reasons why that might happen.    Your refund was offset or differed from their estimated refund amount, bringing the refund amount below the minimum threshold or above the maximum. Your bank wouldn't accept RTP (Real Time Payments) or Same Day ACH deposits, preventing Intuit from depositing your refund 5 days ahead of when the IRS would have deposited your refund.  The IRS didn't give Intuit 5 or more days of notice in advance. This stopped Intuit from meeting the 5 days early expectations.        If TurboTax is unable to deliver the refund 5 days early, your order will be canceled and you won't be charged the 5-Day Early fee.   You will receive a follow-up email with a refund and timing update, and if any cancellation is applicable.
I filed mine on 2/2. Left it unchecked, because of the TurboTax Tax online version. Got my refund on 2/19.

Hi, I have downloaded TurboTax 2025, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to buy a licence/activation key. Can someone please point me to the page to buy a key? (I think I could go to a physical store and buy a box with the key on it, but this seems strange). Thank you
Please also tell us what you are wanting to change.   @fakhrul-patwary02

Did you already e-file?   You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it.  It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner.  The IRS does not allow you to take it back.   If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.”  The changes will go nowhere.   Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.  If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.    Sometimes—not always— the IRS corrects your mistakes, while they are processing your return.    If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail  it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally.  You will need to use a form called a 1040X.     Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed   The Form 1040X is scheduled to be available on March 4.  The date is subject to change, so check on 3-4 to see if it is ready.   Before that, do not change anything at all on your return.
