@rsaffi    Or did you mean box 2a $$ amounts......those are the normal Mutual Fund cap gains  (never had any 2b, 2c, or 2d $$)

I paid with my card already. I'd just like to communicate with customer help and ask for a refund. I'm just disappointed and confused. It seems like I did something that triggered the Deluxe package, but I don't know what it was, and I believe I could have filed what I filed, myself, with the Free Edition.

The amount of my 2024 California tax was $X.  My 2025 total payment (witholding + estimate tax payment) was $(1.10645*X).  According to CA's estimate tax requirement, there should be no underpayment panelty.  However, my TurboTax calculated that I need to pay $24 panelty.  Can somebody help me to find out how and where the panelty is calculated or is a mistake made by TurboTax? Thanks!

NVM, I found the answer.    I have to trigger it from the Information Worksheet under Calculate and print Shareholder Stock and Debt Basis Limitation Worksheet.

I SHOULD HAVE SAID I COULD BE CLAIMED AS A DEPENDENT   Did you say you could not be claimed as someone else’s dependent, but it turns out your parent(s) can claim you?  Now your parents’ return is being rejected when they e-file, or it will be rejected.    Your part in fixing this will be to wait until the IRS has fully processed your tax return, and then you must amend your own return.  You use a form called a 1040X.   You will go to MY INFO and go through the interview questions to the one that asks if someone else can claim you as a dependent.  Say YES.   Meanwhile, your parent(s) do not need to wait for you to amend.  Waiting will not help them at all.   They can either print, sign and date their return in ink, and file it by mail.   OR   GET IP pin in order to e-file if your dependent’s SSN was claimed on another return   https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-takes-steps-to-help-prevent-refund-delays-by-accepting-duplicate-dependent-returns-with-an-ip-pin-for-2025-filing-season-taxpayers-encouraged-to-sign-up-soon-for-ip-pin-online-account     https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/get-an-identity-protection-pin     If you are the parent whose e-file has been rejected—- follow the steps above to file your own tax return that claims your child.   If it is any comfort, you (and your parents) are among many young tax filers who make this mistake.  We will be seeing plenty of posts just like yours.   And posts from the parents whose e-files were rejected....

DID YOU E-FILE?   Did you e-file?   Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted  or rejected your federal e-file.  If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.   Check your e-file status:   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/    What does it say in your account?  Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.  Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.   STATE RETURN Make sure your state return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   To track your state refund:       ttps://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0

@On3Nico wrote: Yeah, I'm trying to amend one of my W2s that I missed, and I can't seem to amend my 2025 W2. Is there a way for me to start amending my missed W2? @jessehwarlick  The amending process has not yet opened up for 2025 returns.  The preparation of Form 1040X is currently expected to become available late on Feb 25 or morning of Feb 26.   In the meantime, do NOT make any changes in your return.  When you start the amending process, it has to start off exactly as originally filed.   You should wait until your return has processed at the IRS. Especially if you were due a Federal refund, you should wait for your original return to fully process at the IRS and that you have received the refund.   Before you prepare your amended return, also see the info in this FAQ and video:   FAQ:  How do I amend my Federal tax return for this current year? https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-curr...   If you amend the Federal return, you may also have to amend the state return (if applicable.)

After over a decade using CPA to file taxes for my LLC filing S-Corp, I am trying Turbo Tax Business for the first time. I bought Turbo Tax Business 2024 to fill out all the federal and state forms manually. Since there is no automatically import from the PDF forms that my CPA provided, hence manual entry.    I am currently stuck to enter form 7203. How do I force create this Form 7203 - S Corporations Shareholder Stock and Debt Basis Limitations?    I tried open form method but there is no form 7203 available to open. Please help. Thank you.
