Please Clarify the question! Did you amend your Federal taxes and pay the tax due? The State seems to be the issue. What State do you live in? Did you file an amended State return when you filed the Federal? A state extension will not apply at this late date. What do you mean by State may be inaccurate? Please contact us again with some additional details.

@AmyC I don't see that wording in NJ tax forms (if someone could point out the exact form and line numbers, that would be helpful), but I do understand that the NJ IRA Worksheet C would require a total. I could see this in a scenario where someone with an Inherited IRA knows the deceased's nondeductible contributions (from Form 8606 in their prior tax years) and has to use Worksheet C to figure out their basis in the Inherited IRA. However, I don't think totaling "all" IRAs is beneficial to the filer, let alone accurate, and should be changed. As you noted, Worksheet C should be done for each account, in which case the total for that field should not be for "all" IRAs, but for that Inherited IRA account alone. IRA distributions are reported by individual account anyway (I have two of them, and this is how they are reported on Federal and state). Further, if my mom made nondeductible IRA contributions but my dad didn't, I don't see why the IRA totals for both of them should be combined as "all," or even added to my own IRAs. Lastly, it would be helpful if TurboTax skipped Worksheet C entirely (and thus the necessity for a total) in cases where nondeductible contributions were never made or are unknown. In such cases, the full distribution is subject to tax anyway, and a calculation is superfluous (albeit confirmatory). Why is the software asking users to complete a worksheet that is necessary except from a tedious, "show-the-math" requirement that isn't even filed? "All" is further confusing because it implies I would include my spouses's IRAs as well (otherwise, when does "all" mean "not all" IRAs?). It would be better if it read to the effect of "total for this account" and only came up if the user indicated a known cost basis for documented nondeductible contributions in the prior screens. This whole section could be improved from a UI perspective, honestly. How do I make my concerns known to the developers?

I have the same comment. I can fill Form 5695 out manually but would rather do it in the interview section. Turbo Tax says that "Home Energy Credits" will be "Available soon", but when will that be? Is it ok to fill form 5695 out manually or should I wait for the software to be available?

My mom is my dependent on my tax return. I have a 1095-A for myself and my spouse, and my mom has her own 1095-A from a different insurance provider. I think this clarifies my question. When I try to enter her 1095-A, the software shows my name. So where should I enter her name?

What is happening? Why are you not able to do this? It may be that something got stuck. You can try these things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Your spouse would not have met the requirements for the "last month" rule. From IRS Publication :
"Last-month rule.
Under the last-month rule, if you are an eligible individual on the first day of the last month of your tax year (December 1 for most taxpayers), you are considered an eligible individual for the entire year. You are treated as having the same HDHP coverage for the entire year as you had on the first day of the last month if you didn’t otherwise have coverage.
Testing period.
If contributions were made to your HSA based on you being an eligible individual for the entire year under the last-month rule, you must remain an eligible individual during the testing period. For the last-month rule, the testing period begins with the last month of your tax year and ends on the last day of the 12th month following that month (for example, December 1, 2024, through December 31, 2025).
If you fail to remain an eligible individual during the testing period, for reasons other than death or becoming disabled, you will have to include in income the total contributions made to your HSA that wouldn’t have been made except for the last-month rule. You include this amount in your income in the year in which you fail to be an eligible individual. This amount is also subject to a 10% additional tax. The income and additional tax are calculated on Form 8889, Part III."
Since your spouse did not have the HDHP at the end of 2025, they would not have met the "last month rule"
Another possibility:
If your spouse had applied for Social Security, he or she would have received Medicare Part A coverage that could be back dated up to 6 months to their 65th birthday. One can't contribute to an HSA once enrolled in Medicare, so it's possible that up to 6 months of contributions could be considered excess contributions if this rule is not met.

It is possible that using the higher itemized deduction would not change the bottom line refund or balance due for your return. If that is the case, then the recommendation may be guiding you to filing a less complicated return by using the standard deduction and not needing to file a Schedule A.
Regardless of the reason and the TurboTax advice, you do have the option to choose which deduction you want to use. See the instructions in the following TurboTax help article to learn the steps you can take.
How do I change from the standard deduction to itemized (or vice-versa)?
