And....to be clear......TurboTax never processes the payment you make to the IRS.   Only the IRS receives and processes your payment.   TT only passes your information along to the IRS.   It is up to the IRS to process your payment.  TurboTax never knows whether your payment has been received or processed by the IRS, and will always show that you have a "tax due" amount in your online account.   You have to watch your own credit or bank account, which is your only proof that you paid the IRS.

No.   An e-file that was rejected was not transmitted to the IRS.  The IRS did not get the direct debit information you entered on your return, if that is how you were trying to pay your tax due.   If you have decided to mail your return instead of fixing it to e-file, then you need to pay the IRS by either mailing a check or money order with the 1040V voucher, or by paying on the IRS payment site.   https://www.irs.gov/payments     https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-payments/help/how-can-i-pay-my-federal-taxes/00/26212
when you e-file, does turbo tax process your fed tax payment if your return is rejected and has to be paper filed?

I had a synchrony bank account misrepresented by them as a SEP.  It was only a CD and I only just found out this past week when I went to do a RMD. They told me that this was only a CD and not a SEP and it took me over 2 weeks to find this out.  I deposited in March of 2024 for my 2023 taxes.  I reported these as SEP on my IRS income taxes in Turbo Tax.   How do I correct this with the IRS now in 2025?
My tax filing submitted on 10/15 has been rejected twice. It asks for the pin which I called into the IRS and received, but that is not working. How can I correct this issue?
if it costs you to maintain the charge us but don't take such a useful time saver product away from us in Q4 when we have been using it this year.  I am leaving TT

Since you have decided to Discontinue It's Deductible, I am Discontinuing my subscription to TurboTax after 30 years. I have 15-20 K of donations a year. I was tracking this information weekly/monthly for a smooth import to TurboTax at the end of the tax season. You have now abandoned your product and have left me no choice but to abandon you. Will I still be able to import my data for this upcoming Tax year, or should I save my money and start working with H&R Block software? Please advise.
I don't think anyone here can attest to Intuit's testing process but we assume when they say it will work with Mac OS 14 or above that that includes 26 and they've tested it
Do not confuse an Archer MSA with an HSA.  They are not the same despite the fact that contributions to an Archer MSA reduce the amount that you are eligible to contribute to an HSA.
You should not amend until your original return has been fully processed.

Very diplomatic of you to say the process was not awesome 🙂  Unacceptable IMHO.  It should be fixed by now.  Sorry to hear of your inconveniences.   When I do my annual withdrawal now, instead of taking the entire $150 or so and apply it completely to my NYS withholding, I keep $1 for me. In that way I don't have that empty box. Very silly.

The payer is not permitted to obfuscate it's TIN on a Form 1099-R.  Perhaps the obfuscated TIN is your own SSN, which should be obfuscated, and you need to look elsewhere on the form for the payer's TIN (it's the EIN of the entity that issued the Form 1099-R).  If the payer's TIN is truly obfuscated, you should contact the payer to obtain a properly prepared Form 1099-R.   If the Form 1099-R includes any tax withholding, entering a payer TIN other than the correct one might cause the IRS to question the validity of the tax withholding being reported.

They didn't need to go to any further trouble just to keep TT alive on Win 10 for a year, for what would be a very small % of their user base and "low average revenue per return" users they don't care about.  They are also cleaning house of Desktop basic edition, ItsDeductible and dropping Mac OS 13 (as usual annually for unsupported MacOS version).  Desktop is a really a legacy business which is only 1% of their revenue and declining 5% annually.  Upgrade or don't, use Turbo or don't, Intuit frankly doesn't mind and will do fine either way, they are focused on growing the other 99% / $20bil of revenue.

That's all well and good but totally unnecessary.  TT can build in their own security if they chose to.  Makes you think they're in MS' pocket!
