I'm having exactly the same issue.  During 2025, I converted part of my 457 account (tax deferred) to a Roth account (taxable), and later, rolled over the remaining 457 balance to an IRA account with a different institution (not taxable).  I've now received a single 1099-R, with a number in line 2a taxable amount reflecting the  457 to Roth conversion, and line 7 code is G.   But, the 2a taxable amount is not showing in 1040 or NY state form.  I see the issue has been reported here for a number of years, but not addressed by Turbotax yet.  Could you confirm that as of now, the best/only solution is to split the 1099-R form into two, one for taxable amount, and the other for non-taxable?   Thank you very much.

I don't know; there's not enough information to know what you are experiencing.  What all did you do?   Did you go through the recovery steps above?   If it was done correctly, it should have found your accounts (User IDs) and allowed you to reset password to regain access.    If you still can't log in, try clearing your browser cache and cookies in case it's remembering your previous attempts. I only have Windows Defender on my Windows 11 laptop—it’s built into Windows 11. TurboTax requires users to upgrade to Windows 11 for “security reasons.” Did TurboTax actually test their software before releasing it to the market? I don’t want to try those methods and risk wasting my limited TurboTax activation attempts. I plan to gather all my documents and complete my tax filing in one day.
Please see this link for instructions on how to update your TurboTax account info.

It depends.  There are a few ways you may be able to save on your taxes.   Energy Efficiency Tax Credits- Instead of a deduction (which reduces taxable income), these are credits, which subtract directly from the taxes you owe. See this article for a summary of the amounts available: Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (EEHIC) Home office deduction- If you are self-employed, you can take advantage of including the expenses on your Schedule C. You'd need to allocate the expense if it was not a direct improvement to the office only, and depreciate rather than expense if it's a major improvement. See: Where do I enter the home office deduction for my business? If you cannot deduct it, keep records of the amount you spend.  It will increase your cost basis which'll reduce your capital gain if you have one when you sell above the primary residence exclusion.

Hi @MaryK4 !   Thank you so much for responding, your response was clear and easy to understand!   I have another question though - when I put $0, it has me owing state tax vs. if I put $15k I don’t. Since PA taxes money added to 401K, why do I need to pay more state tax?

It depends.   TurboTax does have an option where you can apply for a Refund Advance loan.  If you qualify, you can potentially receive an advance of your refund into a Credit Karma Money checking account.  If you meet the terms, you would be able to receive a physical debit card after opening a checking account.  Please see this link titled What's the difference between TurboTax's Up to 5 Days Early Refund Delivery Options and Refund Advance loan for more details.   You can also see how can I receive my tax refunds for all of the other options available.

I have been using Turbo Tax Premier for a number of years now. I have traditionally purchased the package at a local retail store. The cost for the 2025 tax year is $89.99 plus tax. In the past I have prepared 4 returns of the allocated 12 under the Premier Edition. This year, the same Premier Edition indicates Windows only. As I only have access to an IOS Apple tablet, it appears that my only option in completing my 2025 tax returns myself, will be to pay $40 per return ($160 vs $101.69).    Is this correct?

Q: Regarding Federal Tax/Your 2025 Income Summary/Interest and Dividends/1099-DIV: From my paper 1099-DIV I entered the amount ($368) into TurboTax both box 1a & 1b … the result on the Summary is a total of $767 … Why is TurboTax doubling the moneys I actually received and what do I do to only report the $368 I actually received?
