Why did your website not specify I needed Windows 11 before I downloaded it? It wasn't until that point it stated the requirements of 11. I couldn't speak to anyone and ask them if I can transfer that license code to my Mac. Now I had to buy a Windows 11 laptop just to run this software. If I hadn't been using TurboTax over a decade, I'd probably told you where to stick it and gotten a refund on the charges.

I just filed this morning and then checked my mail and saw I had a W-2 from a previous employer for some on the very last wages earned. It’s less than $4K and will not put me in a different bracket. I do not owe and if anything this income will increase my refund by a few dollars. Should I amend now or wait until after I get my refund? I don’t want to delay my refund.

I had the same problem and it was compounded by the fact that I upgraded from an old IMac to a new MacBook Air and was moving files from the old computer to the new computer. This worked for me - Open TT2024 and do the software upgrade Load the 2024 return in TT2024 and then resave it Close and reopen TT2025 After doing the above steps TT2025 recognized the 2024 file.

Been using TurboTax for 20 years. Have zero intention of downgrading to Windows 11 from Windows 10. So Intuit and I are done for good, I guess. Buh bye! In case Intuit is paying attention, new Windows 10 installations have overtaken new Windows 11 installations. New Windows 8 installations have also overtaken Windows 11.

TurboTax does not have book keepers. If you made an appointment with someone you need to cancel the appointment yourself.

If you are using the TurboTax online editions you will need the Premium online edition to report the sale - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/premium/
If you are using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on a personal computer, you can use any of the desktop editions to report the sale - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/compare/desktop/
If you sold your primary personal residence and you lived in and owned the home for at least two years in the five year period on the date of sale, you do not have to report the sale if your gains are less then the exclusion amounts of $250,000 if filing Single or $500,000 if filing Married Filing Jointly (and both lived in the home for two years).
Gain or Loss = Sales Price minus Sales Expenses minus Adjusted Basis (Purchase Price plus the cost of improvements prior to the sale)
Selling cost can include escrow fees, legal fees, real estate agent commissions, advertising costs, and even home staging fees.
If you had a gain greater then the exclusion amounts then you would have to report the sale. Also, if you received a Form 1099-S for the sale either with a gain or a loss, the sale has to be reported. You will need the online TurboTax Premium edition to report the sale if you are using the online editions. Make sure that you indicate that you want the sale of the home reported on your tax return.
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business) Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business) Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown) Scroll down to Less Common Income On Sale of Home (gain or loss), click the start or update button
Or enter sale of home in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to sale of home

I am having this problem with the 2025 TurboTax version. It was fine until it updated itself. Is this a known problem?
