You do not have direct access to forms with online TurboTax.  Only the desktop download has forms mode which allows you to see all of the forms as you prepare the return.  With online, you can preview your Form 1040 and schedules 1, 2, or 3.   When you have paid your fees, you will have access to print or view the other forms.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/preview-turbotax-online-return-filing/L77WCkvnu_US_en_US?uid=m681fkhr

To file or refile your 2022 TurboTax return, you must provide the following information. If you are unable to get your ex-spouse's information, you can follow the steps below.    SIN (Social Insurance Number) Enter 000-000-000 as the SIN. This is the CRA's official "placeholder" for unavailable spouse information. TurboTax asks for your spouse's income to determine if you are eligible for the Spousal Amount (a tax credit for supporting a low-income partner). Since you are separated and cannot get this info, you must ensure you do not accidentally claim a credit you aren't entitled to. Estimate High: If the software requires an income entry to proceed, tax experts recommend entering an estimate high enough to disqualify you from the spousal credit (e.g., $25,000 or $30,000). Marital Status: Select "Separated" or "Divorced" and enter the exact date of separation.   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

I appreciate the detailed response xmasbaby0.   I understand that my wife and I are not considered dependents, but we are the only names listed as available to choose from for the dependent care credit.  Listing my wife and I as eligible dependents is obliviously not correct.  We meet all the requirements for the credit for both our children.    All of our income is entered correctly and my wife and I each have our W-2 income, and other income listed under our individual names.     We file as married filing jointly.    I am curious if anyone else is having this problem.  Do other people have themselves and/or their spouse listed as eligible dependents for purpose of the credit?     For what it's worth, I am familiar with the tax laws and am very confident I am entering all my information correctly.     Thank you to all for your feedback.
January 21 is the estimated date for the software to be ready for entering your 1099R.

If your 2024 refund went to a closed or wrong account, the refund was sent back to the IRS -- or to the third party bank that handles refund processing-- and a check would have been mailed to the address on your 2024 tax return. Here is what the IRS says about entering incorrect banking information https://www.irs.gov/help-resources/tools-faqs/faqs-for-individuals/frequently-asked-tax-questions-answers/irs-procedures/refund-inquiries/refund-inquiries-18     If you used "refund processing" and had your 2024 TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, then you need to sort out the issues about the closed bank account with the third party bank that handles refund processing.     First you need to check the IRS refund site to see if your refund was issued, and look to see how much they issued.   https://www.irs.gov/refunds   Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.   Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.  You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com              How can I see my TurboTax  fees?    https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/review-fees-turbotax-online/L1XnIzgzg_US_en_US?uid=m682vq7k   What is Refund Processing Service?         For 2025, when you are ready to file, in the FILE section you will enter your current, correct banking information for direct deposit of your 2025 refund.   You have to go to Step 2 in the FILE section.   HOW TO CHANGE OR ENTER BANKING INFORMATION FOR REFUND https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/change-transferred-direct-deposit-information/L77NCbU6D_US_en_US?uid=m6tuh572     You cannot  change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted.  The IRS does not allow it.
I agree I will stop using TurboTax if the force me to go online.

Your wife cannot be a dependent.  A spouse can never be claimed as a dependent.  And you cannot be your own dependent.  You and your spouse can file a joint return.  If you have a child, you can enter your child as a dependent in MY INFO.   You seem to be posting about the child and dependent care credit.   Here is more information about that credit:   You will not get the childcare credit until (unless) you enter income earned from working.   The credit does not work unless you enter your income first.   If you are filing a joint return you must show income for both spouses, or show that one or both of you was a student or disabled.   If you have self-employment income and show a loss you will not get the childcare credit.  You will not get the credit if you are filing married filing separately.     If you have entered all of your income and you have entered your dependent(s) then work on the childcare credit by entering the Tax ID or Social Security number of your childcare provider and enter the amount you paid for the childcare.   One of the most common mistakes that messes up the childcare credit for people is listing all of the earned income under only one name on a joint return.  Make very sure that your incomes are listed under each of your names.  It’s pretty easy to check.  Go to the Income section, and click “update” on Wages and Salary.  That will take you to the W-2 Summary.  Do you see income listed under both of your names?       The person receiving the care had to be 12 or under or qualified as mentally or physically disabled. To claim the childcare credit you need to be filing as Head of Household or Married Filing Jointly. (NOT married filing separately)    If your child was born in 2024 make sure you say the child lived with you all year. The credit is a percentage of your expenses based on your AGI (the higher the income, the lower the percentage)  You must provide the Social Security number for each child you are claiming, and the Social Security number or Tax ID for each care provider.    In the case of divorced or never-married parents—only the custodial parent can use the childcare credit.     And remember that the childcare credit is a NON-refundable credit.  It can reduce your tax owed down to zero, but it is not added to your refund.       https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/taxation/child-dependent-care-credit/L8h8A5Klg_US_en_US?uid=m5yifys1   @mrmet007

If you are trying to file as Head of Household you must meet certain criteria.  One of them is that you must pay over 50% of the expenses of running the household.  The other one that is very important is that you must have a qualifying dependent (usually a child, but sometimes an adult who is related to you).      Am I Head of Household?   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-filing-status/qualify-head-household-2021/L0NxUtVc2_US_en_US?uid=m5x19jkx What is a "qualifying person" for Head of Household?   If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

You misunderstood the criteria regarding income.   If your father had more than $5200 of income not counting Social Security, he cannot be claimed as anyone else's dependent.   It is not "earned income" from working that is the only income that "counts" --- it is ANY other income besides Social Security.   If he had $16,000 from a retirement account in 2025 he cannot be claimed as your dependent.   If they do not file a joint tax return -- and your mom had less than $5200 of income not counting Social Security you may be able to claim your mom as a qualifying relative dependent, for whom you will get the non-refundable $500 credit for other dependents.       Qualifying relative They don't have to be related to you (despite the name). They aren't claimed as a dependent by someone else. They're a U.S. citizen, resident alien, national, or a Canadian or Mexican resident. They aren’t filing a joint return with their spouse. They lived with you the entire year (exceptions apply). They made less than $5200 in 2025 (not counting Social Security) You provided more than half of their financial support. When you add someone as a dependent, we'll ask a series of questions to make sure you can claim them. There may be other tax benefits you can get when you claim a dependent.
