With TurboTax switching the 2024 returns to being digital downloads only, why is the software (Home and Business 12 Returns) limited to being PC only? The most basic versions that let you file a limited number of personal returns appear to offer the option for Mac and PC yet the version that offers more returns is OS restricted to PC only. It would make sense, to a limited degree, if it was a disk but since it is software being downloaded from turbo tax ,which offers Mac versions of the software for other versions, what is the reason behind the OS restrictions?
The IRS has a tool to check the status of your amended return.   Click here and see if the IRS has processed your amended return yet.   @cb0202

I filed 2024 before I received 1099-R forms for IRA rollovers, so they have not been reported. TurboTax does not allow me to amend a return for this purpose. Do I not need to amend the returns? Can I simply report these on my 2025 return? What is the right way to handle this situation?

This is not working for me. I can download but I do not have the option to check off anything. The customer Service line is no help.
did you download the PDF or the xxx.tax2023 file? the later would require you to purchase the desktop app for 2023.

I can't see the initial report. But I can tell you that what your screenshot shows is that you rolled $36,000 over from one retirement account to another of which $8000 was taxable - either because you kept it and didn't roll it over or because you rolled it over from a traditional to a Roth account.     Those numbers don't seem to jibe with what you are saying that you are trying to do.  It looks like the entries that you made have been made in the wrong parts of the program.   @gamjatang

If you have corrections to make on your Schedule D, then filing an amended return is the right thing to do.  Pay close attention to whether any losses carried into your 2024 return or to your 2025 return change, even if the bottom line of your tax return does not change due to the corrections you make.   Take a look at the following TurboTax help article to get started:   How do I amend my federal tax return for this year?

Did you wait until your original tax  return was processed before you filed the amended tax return?  Fully processed means that you have receive your refund or your balance due is deducted from your account.    It generally takes 8 to 16 weeks to process an amended tax return (Form 1040-X).   Refer to the IRS website Where’s My Amended Return? for more information.

you're saying you filed a 1041 that was a duplicate(?) of the 1041 the CPA filed. Did both filings use the same EIN/TIN number? did moth reflect exactly the same items on the 1041?  if so, I would do nothing. Wait to see if the IRS sends a notice and respond accordingly. if different EIN/TIN or amounts which one is correct? the incorrect one would need an amended return showing all zeros for amounts. If there are differing amounts between the two, then both need amending - one all zero's and the other reporting the correct amounts using the correct EIN.
What state are you working on? Can you give us more information?
@j_p_halloran We have asked for a callback so that a member of the product support team can assist you in resolving this.

I submitted the wrong forms and ended up paying more in taxes. I used turbotax to submit my taxes as a resident for tax purposes (which I’ve done for years), but there were changes to my residency last year and I didn’t realize that my status changed to a non-resident for tax purposes, so I should’ve used something like sprintax. Since I filed taxes as a resident, I reported income I shouldn’t have and ended up paying more taxes. Although in my case, I received a smaller refund than the one I should’ve received. Should I try to amend my taxes?
