Thank you for the info. Usually how much do we need to pay for the State fillings, $15?

Yes, you need to amend to include that information. For example, if you made a $7000 backdoor contribution and the bank assigned you $1 of interest, you either converted $7001 (so $1 is taxable income) or you converted $7000 (in which case you have $1 of basis left over). Even if there was no interest at all, you need to put it in writing so the IRS can't come back to you later.

Right! Rufus has been the standby for years. And, while I did do one box with Windows 11, specifically and only for Turbo Tax, I am still extremely concerned for my privacy. I do not trust Microsoft any further than I can throw their server farm. There have been several 'flaws', which I believe have been intentionally planted in the code. They are slowly closing every avenue for creating a local account, there is no way anyone, even an IT expert, can keep track of all that Microsoft is doing behind the scenes during an update. What happens if they turn off your local account and turn on Bit Locker without your knowledge. Or what, that has actually happened to a user, logged in with the Microsoft account to get updates and during the update Bit Locker got turned on. He did not command it and he did have a key! He lost 3TB! Irrevocably lost. All because Microsoft thinks they know better!

See https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/login-password/export-data-itsdeductible/L7g6R08jW_US_en_US That was made pretty clear: "You can export your ItsDeductible data for 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 before October 21, 2025."

Instead of listing W11 requirements, the Sources\product server bypasses the requirements and installs the Windows 11. I have non compliant computers all over my shop having no issues with Windows 11 updates on them. Have you actually even tried ? The SSD suggestion was for those with old, slow standard hard drives. It's like giving them a newer, faster life. Nothing to do with Windows 11. Before making comments, at least try the upgrade to 11. (Make sure you have a backup - Ghost your current drive to another drive and do the upgrade on it.) We DON"T need 720 Million computers to be scrapped when there's no need unless they're really old! This is a fix to save countless computers that are operating just fine, just won't upgrade to 11 the way Microsoft wants you to do - they're in the business to make money selling new computers and operating systems. After seeing the vile computers they're selling these days (Laptop in a box !!) it more than encourages me to get people with useful computers to keep them being useful - not being sent to the Electronic scrap heap !!

Well, looks to me like they got in the last laugh. When they said they were shutting down on the 21st, they actually meant they were shutting down end of day on the 20th. I also am unable to find any login links to It’s Deductible. I expected to be able to download one last data set on the 21st. Jokes on me! These guys at Intuit are awesome. Great company.

@UTom Yeah, lots of gobbledy-gook in that Texas law change. BUT Just because Texas doesn't Certify the 403b companies anymore...it doesn't mean that the plans aren't still 403b products. Texas just doesn't seem to want to go thru the extra bureaucracy of certifying or maintain lists of acceptable providers. If any TRS recipients have a question about this, they should go to the TRS website to find their contact telephone numbers and ask. Also check their W-2 while employed or 1099-R if retired. The special 403b code designations are in those forms if you indeed have a 403b plan.

That means you should have at least 34% withheld for federal taxes.
State income taxes (for states that have income tax) range from 3% to 13%. You will have to check your state income tax brackets and approximate income to see how much you need withheld for state taxes.

Waiting to see if TT will install on Win10 is an option, if someone is willing to shell out the $30 for Win10 extended support. And eventually when that runs out, they'll still need to convert to Win11 (or risk Win10 with security vulnerabilities/exploits).
