The tag below your question says you are using TurboTax Online. If that is correct, TurboTax Online does not save the .tax2024 file on your computer. The only way it could be on your computer is if you downloaded it yourself. If you downloaded it, you could have saved it anywhere on your computer, so search the entire computer. Note that Windows Search does not search the Recycle Bin, so you have to look there separately. If you used TurboTax Online and you did not download the .tax2024 file yourself, then it is not on your computer. You can access your tax return in TurboTax Online.

@ashraf-yacoub6    Were you considered an employEE or an employER?   Employees get a W2.  If you were not a W2 employee they might give you a 1099NEC.   Sounds like they paid you as your own boss or independent contractor, 1099 etc.  That is Self Employment income.   To report your self employment income you will fill out schedule C in your personal 1040 tax return and pay SE self employment Tax. You can fill out Schedule C and enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to Premium version. Or buy any of the Desktop programs. All the Desktop programs have all the same forms, but you will get the most help in the Home & Business version.   You can enter your total gross income as Other self employment income or as Cash or General income. You don't need to get a 1099MISC, 1099NEC or 1099K. Even if you did you can enter all your income as Cash. Only the total goes to schedule C. You should be entering the income from your own records. How to enter income from Self Employment https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/self-employed/help/how-do-i-report-income-from-self-employment/00/26653 Where to enter business expenses https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/entering-importing/help/where-do-i-enter-my-self-employment-business-expenses-like-home-office-vehicle-mileage-and-supplies/01/27109 Turbo Tax Self Employment info https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/self-employment-taxes/beginners-tax-guide-for-the-self-employed/L2HLojrj5   Self Employment tax (Scheduled SE) is automatically generated if a person has $400 or more of net profit from self-employment. You pay 15.3% SE tax on 92.35% of your Net Profit (If it is greater than $400). The 15.3% self employed SE Tax is to pay both the employer part and employee part of Social Security and Medicare (FICA). So you get social security credit for it when you retire. It is in addition to any regular income tax you owe on it. The SE tax is already included in your tax due or reduced your refund. It is on the 1040 Schedule 2 line 4 which goes to 1040 line 23. The SE tax is in addition to your regular income tax on the net profit.
TT 2024 deluxe tells me not to list RMD due by April 2025, so how do I report it?
I believe I paid $89 for the 2024 Premier version.  Never saw anyone selling it for $10.

Did you use the Desktop installed program (Windows or Mac) OR download it from the Online version?   Did you search your whole computer for all files ending in .tax2024 or .tax etc?   And check the recycle bin and your backups. Check in the Admin User Account, One Drive, Drop Box, etc.   On Window it should be in your Documents then in the Turbo Tax folder. Also if you have multiple Windows user accounts, log into each one and do the search for the *.tax2024 data file from within each one and checking the Recycle Bin in each one. This user found them in the Admin Account. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/re-my-turbo-tax-2024-deluxe-save-file-disappeared/01/3677232#M1359726   If you don't have the main .tax file you might have one that starts with a Tilde sign ~ like "~your name.tax2024". That file is if your computer crashes or your real file gets lost or deleted or corrupt so you can restore it.   If you used the Desktop program you should be able to open the program and it should find your return so you can open it.

On a Window's computer the Check File Status is under File, the first item on the LEFT.  Open your return and go up to menu item File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status   Then save your return with the status. Go to File-Save. And When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.   There is also an Electronic Postmark page saying when you filed and when the IRS accepted it.  You can find it in Forms Mode.  Probably near the end. That is your proof and signature.

@user17537218637   I'm glad you posted that.  I was just going to ask you HOW you installed 2024 on your Desktop Windows 10 because they stopped selling the CD with the 2024 version.   Where did you get the CD?  After everyone was complaining about no CD this year, they started selling the install CD for $10 but only after you first bought the 2024 download.     Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account when you first install it, all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac) you can download it again.   Here is How to get started with the Desktop program, install and activate it.  I imagine it will be the same for next year 2025. https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/product-delivery/download-software-turbotax-com/L7u9oLEkq_US_en_US?uid=luqgvzrd

Yes----I know there was a CD for 2024.   My reply above stated that.   When the 2024 desktop software was released there was not a CD.  But so many users clamored for a CD that TT made them available for an extra $10 about a month or so into the tax season.    There were -- and still will be -- many people who are simply confused and could not understand that downloading the software was no different from installing it by inserting a CD into a disk drive.   The software itself is exactly the same; the method of getting it onto your hard drive is the only difference.
Thank you for confirming the laptop download for 2025.  However, I do want you to be aware that there was, in fact, a CD for the 2024 version of TT as I own it.   Thanks, Phyllis

I'm hoping @pk  or @dmertz  can help follow up here, in case I make a mistake.   For a Roth 401k, that is taxable according to US law, because you were working in the US when you made the contributions.  That means that non-qualified withdrawals would be taxed according to US law, even if you are living overseas.  Withdrawal of contributions before age 59-1/2 is not taxed, but withdrawal of the earnings is income tax plus 10%.    For a pre-tax 401k, you can probably leave the money in the 401k, you don't have to roll it over.  Most of the time, the company won't just kick you out.  However, you certainly have the option of rolling it over to an IRA.  Doing a Roth conversion now could save you taxes later, but this depends on your state of residence, and your home country's tax rules.   For the IRS (federal government), a Roth conversion will likely be taxed at 12%, 22% or 24%, depending on your other income, as long as you are still an RA.  If you withdraw the money later as an NRA, it is taxed at a fixed rate of 30%.  So just thinking about the federal government, you would pay less tax to the IRS by converting the money while you were an RA.  However, we also have to think about state income tax.  As an RA, you will pay state income tax on the conversion for the state you are living in, if you withdraw the money after leaving the US, the state doesn't tax it.   So if you are in California, for example, and paying 10%, you may pay less overall tax by withdrawing after you leave the country and paying the flat 30%.   And you also have to consider your home country.  If your home country taxes Roth IRA withdrawals, then you pay taxes twice, once to the US when converting and once to your home country when withdrawing, and because you don't owe US tax on the withdrawal, you can't file for an offsetting US tax credit.  If you withdraw regular IRA funds, you also pay taxes twice, to the US and your home country, but the US will usually give you a tax credit to (at least partially) offset the foreign taxes you pay on the same money.     Also remember that conversions start a new 5 year clock plus the age 59-1/2 rule.  Even if you convert your pre-tax 401k to a Roth IRA and pay the taxes today, you will pay income tax on any new earnings you withdraw before age 59-1/2, plus a 10% penalty on the entire withdrawal if withdrawn in less than 5 years.   So I think you need to find out if China will tax your Roth IRA withdrawals, and you need to think about your state income taxes for your current US state of residence.  If China will tax the Roth IRA withdrawal, I think a conversion will probably hurt you in the long run, even though it may save on US taxes.     Lastly, let's think about how the foreign tax credit works.  You won't ever pay less than the US tax.  For example, suppose China taxes IRA withdrawals at 20% and the US charges 30% to a NRA.  The US would give you a 20% offset so you pay 10% to the US and 20% to China, so the net result is the same 30%.  And the 10% penalty for early withdrawal is a penalty, not a tax, so it is not offset by foreign taxes.  For this reason, if you are planning on withdrawing the money before age 59-1/2, I suspect that it makes the most sense to do that before you leave the US and pay the taxes once and get it over with.  If you will leave the money until after age 59-1/2, then you have to next find out if China will tax Roth IRA withdrawals.

You do  not actually need a disk drive to use desktop software.   You can easily just download the software to your computer.   Tax year 2024 was the first year that TT did away with the plastic CD's.   So many users were confused by the concept of just downloading the software that TT made plastic CD's available for an extra $10 to comfort them.  We do not know if they will do that for 2025.   There is NO difference between the downloaded desktop software and the software that was installed from a piece of plastic.   Most new computers do not have disk drives---thus the download software instead.
