If you prepared and e-filed your 2020 MA state return in 2021, your online account will show whether it was accepted or rejected. However, if the state is saying you did not file, then instead of arguing with the state, you could print, sign and mail them a copy of the MA return. Do you have proof that you paid your 2020 tax due? TurboTax never knows if you paid your tax. Your only proof that you paid MA will be your own bank or credit card statements.
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

Hello, When I looked online at my return for state of Massachusetts from 2020, it said pending. Can turbotax show me a confirm that it was submitted to the state? They send a "Failure to file" letter but I had several states and the federal that was filed that year.

You cannot change the tax year. The current online program is for 2024 only. Only a 2024 return can be prepared online and only a 2024 return can be e-filed.
Online preparation and e-filing for 2021, 2022, and 2023 is permanently closed.
Note: The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac. It cannot be used on a mobile device.
To file a return for a prior tax year
If you need to prepare a return for 2021, 2022, or 2023 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign, and mail the return(s)
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.
Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

Why use AI at this point (end of calculations, transmitting to IRS), obscuring the screen such that one cannot even discern WHAT is about to be printed/transmitted? I eliminated 3 overriding pages obscuring the subject forms beneath, in hopes that what remained was, in fact, what I had intended to submit. Scary!!!

If you had to verify your identity, that adds a lot of time to the processing of your return. Only the IRS can tell you when you will receive your refund. TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after you file your return. Watch the IRS refund site for information or call the IRS.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line. So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead. Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment". Then press 3 "for all other questions." Then press 2 "for all other questions." - When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything. - After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions. Then press 3 for all other inquiries It should then transfer you to an agent.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after your return was filed, so no one at TurboTax knows about a letter you received from the IRS or the state.

@zakladams wrote: I have used TurboTax Online since 2017. The 2023 information transferred to the 2024 return. 2024 return has been filed already, also through TurboTax Online. Thanks for your help! The "trick" to get the Depreciation Report for 2024 is to get the full PDF of your 2024 return that includes all of the worksheets. The steps below describe the steps to do that. It has to do be done from the Print Center inside the return. NOTE: When you open your return interview back up, do not make any changes in it since it's already been filed. If you ever need to amend the 2024 return, it must start off exactly as it was when originally filed. Log in to Online TurboTax, and at the Tax Home or in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents" for 2024, look for a link "Add a State." Click on "Add a State." (you don't really add one. That's just to open your return interview back up.) After the return interview is open, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then subtab PRINT CENTER. Then choose "Print, save, view this year's return." The next screen should offer some options: "Just my tax returns", or "include government worksheets (optional)", or "include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional.)" The latter has the most pages. One of the pages should be called Depreciation Report. There should also be pages on each of the assets called Asset Entry, if needed. I don't know how you intend to deliver that report to your accountant, but keep in mind that regular email is not a secure method of sending sensitive documents. Those pages may have your SSN on them or other sensitive info. NOTE: Remember all PDF tax documents and tax data files are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc. Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.

Check the report that you received from the dealer and make sure it is correct and matches what you have entered on your tax return.
Contact the dealer and make sure that they provided the correct information to the IRS and/or that they did provide the sale information to the IRS.
If number 1 and 2 are true and the IRS still rejects your tax return, you will have to print and mail the return, including substantiating documentation for the claim of the credit
