You didn't actually pay the tax or the 10% penalty (you pay a 10% early withdrawal penalty if you are under 59 ½). You had taxes withheld like from your paycheck. You still have to enter the whole gross amount (before taxes were withheld) with your other income to figure out the total tax (and it may put you into a higher tax bracket and can reduce any credits) and then the withholding is subtracted from the total tax to figure your refund or tax due. The Gross amount shows up on 1040 line 4a or 5a and the taxable amount on 4b/5b. The withholding will show up on 1040 line 25b. It has to break out and show the 10% penalty separately on your return (schedule 2 line 8 which goes to 1040 line 23). Then you get credit for all the withholding taken out on 1040 line 25b.

Sorry, Online is only for 2024 now. Online for 2023 and prior is closed now so you can not start a new 2023 or prior return or finish one. You have to do each year separately How to prepare a prior year return https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/how-do-i-prepare-a-prior-year-tax-return/00/25984 To do a prior year return you have to buy the Desktop program here, https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.   If you have a simple return and want to file for free you can fill out the forms by hand. Here are some basic forms….. Here is the IRS 2023 Form 1040 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040--2023.pdf or if you want bigger type use 1040SR for Seniors, https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s--2023.pdf And 2023 Instructions https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2023.pdf 2023 Tax and EIC Tables https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040tt--2023.pdf Sch 1 : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s1--2023.pdf Sch 2 : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s2--2023.pdf Sch 3 : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s3--2023.pdf Then when you do file 2024 enter 0 for the 2023 AGI since you are filing 2023 late. You have to print and mail prior year returns. When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return. Don’t forget state.
Some states require you keep of copy of the signed form with your tax records.    But if your returns have been accepted, you are done and can ignore that message.

I have Windows Home & Business too.  Yes they have changed the interest, dividend and investment screens a lot.  Everyone is complaining.   I don't like how to enter Interest, Dividends, Sales etc.  Too many clicks and screens to click on and go through. Go to the bottom and +Add Investments, then import or skip import, THEN....should be a screen with 5 boxes, pick Interest, Dividends, Stocks Bonds Mutual Funds, Cryptocurrency, or Other. Oh and Interest, Dividends and Sales are listed in the same list on the screen alphabetically. If I go to Interest I only want to see Interest! You can switch to Forms Mode and enter them directly into Schedule B using the Dividend Income Smart Worksheet. But then they won't show up in the Step-by-Step list. So go to the bottom and click on +Add Investments Then to Import enter the bank or financial institution in the search box Then double click on the item below OR to manually enter, don't enter the bank name and click Skip Import at the bottom THEN....should be a screen with 5 boxes, Interest, Dividends, Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, Cryptocurrency and Other. If you transferred from last year you get to a list of all your 1099s. To enter the amount click on Review which takes you to the beginning screen to import your tax info or go to the bottom and Skip Import. Then you get the screen with 5 boxes. Pick the kind of 1099 and Continue. Then that 1099 will show up.

Yes, you can remove PLUS benefits as long as you haven't paid for TurboTax.  Refer to the TurboTax article Can I remove PLUS Benefits before I pay? for instructions.
