Thanks again! When it comes to state taxes, I had to submit taxes for CA and NY. Would I need to amend my state taxes considering the following? 1) CA taxes: I wasn't a resident in CA, so I included that information when filing with turbotax and turbotax told me I'd life as a non-resident. Does that mean that I'd have to amend my taxes? I'm not sure if Turbotax and Sprintax provide different tax forms for state taxes 2) I was assigned as a part-time NY resident by turbotax. In that case, would I have to submit an amendment?
Yes, I cannot download or the depreciation worksheet.
Why do you think there is a mistake?   Did you receive a notice or did your return get rejected?   If it was rejected, what was the reject code?

You sure can. If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.    You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed. You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return. Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return. The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected. You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment Select your product below and follow the instructions.  Amend TurboTax Online  Amend TurboTax CD/Download

@Michael RL As per CRA, you should report all amounts in Canadian currency, unless the transaction meets the requirements explained as followed.   Foreign currency reporting Complete all T5008 slips in Canadian currency. Use the exchange rate that was in effect at the time of the transaction or an average rate that includes the transaction period.   Foreign currency is usually converted to Canadian funds before it is credited to the recipient's account. However, certain taxpayers keep foreign currency accounts and choose to convert their account balances themselves. If you get proceeds of disposition in a foreign currency and deposit the amounts to your client's foreign currency account without converting them to Canadian funds, you can report in the foreign currency that applies. Identify foreign currency amounts by entering in box 13 the applicable currency code under international standard ISO 4217.   When you report amounts in foreign currency, keep the following in mind:   print the name of the foreign currency on the T5008 slips (for example, U.S. DOLLARS) beside the Identification of securities text above the white box of Box 17 – Identification of securities for the recipient's benefit if you file your T5008 information return on paper and leave box 13 blank, we will process the amounts on the T5008 slips as Canadian dollars when completing the T5008 summary, you only have to enter one amount for total proceeds of disposition, whether or not you complete the T5008 slips in different currencies   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

@riadassi    A lot of things affect the amount of tax that you owe. You can't rely on that to indicate whether you are getting the foreign earned income exclusion. You have to see if Form 2555 is included in your tax return, and whether the exclusion appears on Schedule 1 line 8d. Note that the foreign earned income exclusion excludes the income only from income tax. Since you are self-employed, you still have to pay self-employment tax. Depending on other things in your tax return, it's possible that the amount you owe is just self-employment tax. That could be why the exclusion does not change the amount that you owe. Your income tax is on Form 1040 line 16. Self-employment tax is on Schedule 2 line 4, and is included in the amount on Form 1040 line 23.

You generally don't want to send an amended return for an original return that hasn't been fully processed or it could show every thing down.   You will need to contact the IRS for information. It might be easiest to set up an account with them.   IRS Individual Online Account   Taxpayers with a Social Security number or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number can create or access their IRS Individual Online Account to get information they need to file their return. With an IRS Individual Online Account, people can: View balance owed, payment history and schedule payments. Cancel scheduled payments. Get transcripts. View or create payment plans. See digital copies of some IRS notices. View key data from their most recently filed tax return, including adjusted gross income. Validate bank accounts and save multiple accounts, eliminating the need to re-enter bank account information every time they make a payment. View, approve and electronically sign power of attorney and tax information authorizations from their tax professional.

We as well are going on year two of this IRS nightmare. I went physically to the SSA to have the issue fixed on their end. ( of course they said good to go).  Asinine amount of time on the phone with probably every representative. Then there is the TAS, which gave me the least amount of information and confidence that our issue will be resolved. My biggest issue with all of this, if I can physically and administratively prove I still freaking exist, why does it have to be another "30-45 Days", "4-6 weeks", "6-8 weeks"!! If I took even a fraction of this time to accomplish any aspect of my job, i would be terminated on the spot.    The only consistency in the whole thing has been the lack of any common logic by any party as well as the typical pre-written, automated answers that continue to not address any of the actual issues.    Apologies,  rant over.   I only made an account to comment and inquire about the CA lawsuit and finding out eligibility for individuals outside of PA to be involved.   Respectfully, Another Annoyed Taxpayer

I don't think you need to file an amendment if I understand correctly.    I assume you took a deduction for the property tax. It was later refunded, but you will have to pay the refund received back to the county. So in that case, your return is accurate, once you pay back the refund. Is that correct?
I did call in when I was still trying to resolve the issue and we tried to screen share, but for whatever reason it did not work.  All the person at your end could see was a black screen.
Thank-you for fixing this T3 error Code #95365 before the deadline. It works now!

It depends.  It may have tax consequences or it may not.  It will depend on the amount of debt you owe, and the market value of the property and your cost basis in the property. If your cost basis in the property is greater than the market value or the amount you owe, then you would not have any tax liability on this transaction. However, if your cost basis is less than the amount you owe or the FMV, then you would have a gain and a tax liability.
