@TY96Dave wrote: ..., SO AGAIN, (2nd time) THE RETURNs (Federal and State) were REJECTED, and I had to pay A THIRD $$$25$$$ State filing FEE. Sorry you had all that trouble.  This is mainly a user community forum--not a direct route to TurboTax Support.   I don't know if anyone from TurboTax will see your posting, but even if so, nothing account-specific can be handled here.  So see if you can at least get some relief the following way:    Were you charged the state efile fee multiple times due to a rejection?    You should not have to pay the state efile again after a rejection.   You can contact the folks at TurboTax Support and ask them to review your fees, and should hopefully be refunded for any extra state efile fees.    Support hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific, every day this time of year. If TurboTax identified an error in Box 1 of your 1099-INT data after you filed your return, you will need to amend your return. Here’s how to proceed: Wait for Acceptance: Ensure your original return has been accepted by the IRS (or mailed if you filed a paper return). Use the Same TurboTax Account: Log in to the same TurboTax account you used to file your original return. Open Your Return: Log in to TurboTax and open your current tax return. Start the Amendment Process: Navigate to the “Federal Taxes” tab, then “Other Tax Situations.” Select “Amend a Return” and follow the prompts to start the amendment process. Correct the Error: Delete the incorrect 1099-INT entry Go to Income” and select “Interest on 1099-INT.” Find the incorrect entry and delete it. Re-enter the correct information from your 1099-INT form. Review and File the Amended Return: Review your amended return to ensure all information is correct.  Follow the prompts to file the amended return. Note that TurboTax does not support e-filing for amended returns; you will need to print, sign, and mail it to the IRS.
Checked multiple resources and Nova's answer is most complete. However, I'd really like to see the smart worksheet to compare those numbers with the ones I can find in my return. Thanks

To clarify, do we deduct the amount that was spent to pay off other debt from the amount of the mortgage refi to obtain the answer to "Since you first took out this loan, how much has been spent to buy, improve, or build the home it's secured by?" If we didn't use any of the mortgage refi proceeds to improve the home when we closed on the loan, do we enter zero for this question. I am not sure what they mean by "buy." How can you use the mortgage refi proceeds to buy the same home that the loan is secured by?
If you choose to add a state (you aren't really going to add a state), you can usually get back into the program and continue your return.
No, you do not need to start over.  The program saves your information  as you go.

Row A – I lived there for the first half of the year.   Row B – I work remotely in that state.   Row C – I lived there for the second half of the year.       Total wages were $146805.22.       My tax advisor is saying, “the W2 is incorrect because it’s reporting that you made $297,867.03 and they should reproduce a corrected W2.” My HR is saying, “the W2 is correct and a CPA reviewed and confirmed it’s accurate.”     Please advise, because I’m not sure what to do from here.
No that is wrong. The IRS says that is should be the greater of $1300 or $(Earned Income)+$450.

I am confused. Can I talk with someone.,
The same thing has happened to me.  I have a simple tax, with a single W2 and no deductions.  But it says I have to upgrade to deluxe before I can file.  I am very frustrated.
If my college student received $3081 in summer internship with W2, received scholarships, grants, and fellowships, does she still need to file for taxes?

For the whole saved pdf tax file, the only text that's black is the headings and official text on the left side. ALL OF MY NUMBERS ARE MUCH LIGHTER; GRAY - NOT BLACK! Of course they're also smaller point size than the "official form" text. My printer toner density is maxed out, but text is still light and very difficult to read! This is definitely a programming problem, not my monitor or printer! It's annoyed me for years, but I never tried to adjust it aside from printer toner density until now.
