As of April 17 this error has been fixed. Lines 68140 & 68150 are now non-zero and I was able to NETFILE successfully with a net capital loss.

Hello, there are no property tax relief questions under the section turbo tax keeps referring everyone to: Property Tax Relief and Star. Please check your software. It may not be there because I read it expired 1/2024 and is currently in the NYS legislature for possible renewal. Best, Pamela

Edited for clarity 4/17/2025 at 5:44 AM Pacific   @cassielua  After you follow the important points that @Vanessa A  @xmasbaby0  and @AnnetteB6  all mentioned above to be sure you and your significant other are on the same wavelength, you can try the following, if you wish, and you may be able to efile without a rejection and avoid filing a paper return.   New this year: If a dependent has already been claimed on another return and causes a rejection of the second return, the IRS now allows the first-listed (primary) taxpayer on the rejected return to get an IP PIN (a 6-digit Identity Protection PIN) and still successfully efile their return and avoid having to file a return on paper.     I have seen users in this forum where it has worked. and the rejected filer was able to efile successfully.     The IRS says:   "Beginning in the 2025 filing season, the IRS will accept Forms 1040, 1040-NR and 1040-SS even if a dependent has already been claimed on a previously filed return as long as the primary taxpayer on the second return includes a valid Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN). This change will reduce the time for the agency to receive the tax return and accelerate the issuance of tax refunds for those with duplicate dependent returns. In previous years, the second tax return had to be filed by paper."   "This change will benefit filers claiming important tax credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit."     "In the scenario where the dependent has already been claimed on another tax return, the IP PIN provides an important new option. The taxpayer listed first on an e-filed tax return claiming dependents can provide their current year IP PIN when they file. If they do, the return will still be accepted."     The others listed on the return do NOT need to provide an IP PIN if they don’t have one.   IRS Source: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-takes-steps-to-help-prevent-refund-delays-by-accepting-duplicate-de...

When entering canadian capital gains in box 21 make sure the foreign capital gains box does not get populated after entering the split in boxes 52 and 53.
@Anne04 Thank you so much for your update. Did your file submission finally go thru?
I was charged almost $300 myself. Im disgusted i could have paid an accountant to do all the work for me. Total ripoff.
I had a similar problem. I contacted my bank and they are researching.  The payment showed up as a "transfer," and two weeks after clearing my bank, it was posted to my tax account.  Strange.

I usually use the prior year TT to do some running estimate during the year until the next year's version is available.  The only issue is any changes in deductions or tax brackets for 2025 etc will be slightly different so you have to compensate a little for those situations to make it work e.g. you can mock up a W2 from your YTD pay statement but maybe 401k contribution limits have changed, HSA deduction limits have changed etc, and maybe do the final tax table calculation by hand using 2025 tables.  There may be other tax calculators which are up to date for 2025 more quickly than the TT release.  Depends how complex your situation is - but remember to avoid underpayment penalty you need to hit 100% of 2024 tax (110% if AGI > 150k), or 90% of 2025 tax whichever is smaller, so your worst case you need to hit the "100/110% of 2024 tax" which is known but maybe more withholding than you need; did you work thru the interview under Other Tax Situations/Form W4 and Estimated Taxes to figure the amount you need.
