Got the same issue and have heard that maybe late friday. talked to their support folks and she really wasn't aware there was an issue soooo, her response was to wait until the end of the month. Others have chimed in since I posted earlier, that it might be fixed friday but who knows. Can't believe this is taking so long.

The "security code" is provided by my Symantec fob. When I imported from Charles Schwab which also uses a security code , the login went fine. Why would ETRADE be different ?

not working here either so the 1-21-2026 date has come and gone. Too late in the day to do anything on it. Really frustrating to be held up in things we need to get done. I needed to estimate my taxes to be sure I paid enough in but that is not possible anymore with this product. Last year for me with them after after about 30 years. I'm done.

Yes, but keep in mind, there are two different pins used during filing, and not everyone needs both. The IP (Identity Protection) pin is six (6) digits and issued by the IRS to individuals that have been a victim of identity theft or by if it was requested by an individual. Most people do not have an IP Pin. If you don't, you can answer NO on the IP pin question and proceed to filing. If you do have an IP pin - you can only retrieve it from the IRS. We can't issue IP PINs and you won't find them on your tax paperwork. You can only get IP PINs from the IRS.
The other pin is the Self-Select pin (5 digits) that you create each year when you file. You can create any 5 digit number to file and only you know this number. If you are trying to e-file, you need EITHER last year's AGI or last year's Self-Select pin you created to file. So you don't need both numbers, only one or the other to e-file this year's return.
IRS - retrieve your IP pin
Self-Select pin vs. IP pin
