I have a Consolidated Form 1099 Package from Robinhood and trying to import it to TurboTax (desktop version).  But the message is  We didn’t find the right account types to connect at this provider. We can connect to Robinhood (Markets and Digital Assets) but can’t find the right kind of accounts. Select an account at a different provider. (106) My consolidated form has 1099-DIV, 1099-MISC, short and long capital gains. There is a total of 14 pages. Should I enter each transaction individually?
I learned that TT calculates the Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) in Form 8582. I want to download that form in the DIY Premium Online version.    Any insights will be appreciated. Thanks.
What did I do wrong? I cannot get passed the final review of my state return. Schedule HBC: Bank Name must be entered.
I have this same problem.  I cleared my cache, rebooted my computer (Mac), but still run into this problem.  Can someone please help?

Hello!  I received a W-2 and a 1099-Misc from a lawsuit settlement for back wages. The W-2 shows the wages I was owed: $400, and the 1099-Misc shows another amount: $1,600, for a total check I received of $2,000. My question is, do I report the $400 in the "W-2" section and the $1,600 in the "1099-Misc and Other Common Income" section? If so, do I need to state in the "uncommon situation" section that the $1,600 is from a lawsuit settlement and the back wages amount that I received? This would be the same amount ($400) as the W-2 section. Is this double-counting it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tax is not computed on AGI (line 11) but on taxable income (line 15) . There are multiple methods that can affect the tax calculation because certain items get special treatment. If this person is self-employed, besides regular income taxes, there can be an additioanl 15% tax on net self-employment income.    However, I think in your situation something was entered incorrectly.

Double check that you are looking at the document number, which has multiple characters- here is where you can see an example NYDMV. Enter the first 3 characters after, not including "IDUSA".  Some other users experienced errors with incorrect issue and expiry dates, so double check they are correct and not swapped as well.    For more information, see Where do I find my document number so that I can e-file my New York return?

There are other possible deductions besides state income tax. The most common are medical expenses and contributions to charity. Look at Schedule A and see what deductions TurboTax is including. Look at the actual tax form, not a summary screen in TurboTax. Also double-check all of your state tax entries on your W-2 and elsewhere. Look for entry errors including repeated or transposed digits, extra digits, misplaced decimal points, etc. We can't see your tax return. The federal tax payment is not deductible. It should not be entered anywhere. Did you mistakenly enter it somewhere that caused it to be counted as a deduction?

You can enter your current occupation at the time you are signing and filing the return.   The IRS really just uses this field for statistical purposes to track employment trends across the country. It doesn't affect your tax calculations.
A non-taxable Roth IRA distribution should not show up on Form 40 Schedule RS.  Did you enter $0 for the taxable amount in Box 2a and State distribution - Box 16 when you entered the Form 1099-R?

Skip the import and choose 1099-R (financial institution or other provider).   DFAS is an ''other provider'' in TurboTax.     Where do I enter a 1099-R?   You can enter the amounts directly in TurboTax.   After you enter the form with the Federal ID number, TurboTax will prompt you to identify the form as military retirement and then transfer amounts to your state return if applicable.   Thank you for your service!
You can enter this by navigating to Deductions and Credits > Deductions & Credits Summary > Estimates and Other Taxes Paid > Estimated Tax Payments > State estimated taxes for 2025

In the conversation above, there was a mistake in the formula to distribute the box 14 SQD taxes across the cost basis values for the ESPP shares that were sold in in the tax year (2025).   If there are multiple ESPP stock sales, there will be multiple stock sale line items in the 1099B.   In order to get the total amount of taxes distributed across the cost basis values for each stock sale to match the value in box 14a SQD on the W-2, you need to multiply the ESPP sale tax value in 14a SQD by the number of shares sold in each ESPP sale line item. Then, divide by the total number of ESPP shares sold in in the tax year (2025). You can add up all the ESPP stock shares sold in the 1099B to get this denominator.   Add the associated fractional amount of the 14A SQD taxes for each stock sale to each respective stock sale cost basis line item.   This should distribute the amount of taxes paid for each sale proportionally and the total amount of taxes added to the total cost basis value should equal the 14A SQD tax value.   For example, if you add up all the updated cost basis values and subtract the total value of all the original cost basis values, you should get the value of the taxes paid and listed in 14a SQD in the W-2.

The reject code IL1040-10100-1 indicates that the Secondary Taxpayer Drivers License number or State ID number did not match the Drivers License or State ID number on the Illinois Department of Revenue production file. To resolve this issue, you should: Verify that your driver's license information is correct and matches the IDOR records. If you filed an amended return, use the AGI from the latest accepted and processed return. Ensure that at least one of the following fields is present and matches the IDOR production file: Secondary IL-Pin, Secondary Prior Year AGI, or Secondary IL Drivers License/State ID Number. For further assistance, you can contact the Illinois Department of Revenue Taxpayer Assistance line.   when i ran into a similar problem, I indicated that my spouse had no ID, like a DL or state ID and it was for Illinois. this allowed me to e-file.   You can also delete the Il-pins or check here https://tax.illinois.gov/questionsandanswers/answer.59.html    you must supply some ID like last year's agi which if you filed jointly should be the same for both of you. Unlike Federal, Il wants AGI from last version of the 2024 return that was filed.
