The calculation appears to be correct to me...   1. Which product are you using: Online or desktop (Win or Mac)? 2. What is your amount for Ohio Taxable Income? 3. What is your amount for Tax before Credits?    In my test, the answers were 1. Online 2. $49,250 3. $980, which is $342 + (.02750*($49,250-$26,050))

I mean it restarted after the update showing the transferred payers from last year, but no edit/delete functionality, only add new payers, so I shut off the computer and turned it on again with the same results.  I waited an hour and started the computer again and it gave me full functionality for the first edit only, then I had to save and restart the program again to gain full functionality for the remaining payers.  Fortunately all done now and even the charitable donation section is fully functional as well.  FWIW, good to know that results are the same with interview and forms methods with the updates.

Mine still says unavailable to complete even the tool says that Form 5695 is available for efile. Why the discrepancy?
It is to late to apply for the 2020 and 2021 stimulus payments.  The request had to be made on or before April 15, 2025.

Hi, I keep trying to review everything to file my taxes. I keep getting an error message that form 8829 "is not approved for release at this time" and I can't figure out why. It looks like it's flagging my assets but I don't have any to enter. I looked on the IRS site and the form 8829 is on there so I'm not sure why this is happening?
How do I enter my truncated social security number on a 1099-NEC to be given to a contractor?

Yes, if your business is showing a net profit, some portion of your home office expenses should be allowed. Review your entries to see if the percentage of use is reported correctly and not reported as zero. Here is how to check.   If you are entering these in  TurboTax Online    Go to the section where you entered the Home Office expenses. Look for a screen titled "Business conducted in home office" or "Percentage of time spent in office." Ensure you have entered 100% (or your actual percentage). If this is blank, TurboTax defaults to zero income for that office. If this is unsuccessful, go to Tax Tools > Tools > Delete a form. Delete Form 8829 and the Home Office Asset Worksheet if it appears.   Redo the section again in Turbo Tax If using the software.   Select the Federal Taxes tab, then Wages & Income. Click "I'll choose what I work on." Find Business Income and Expenses (Sch C) and click Start/Update. Click Edit next to your business. On the "Your Business" summary screen, scroll down to Business Expenses and click Start/Update next to Home Office Expense. You can also delete the forms by going to the forms mode in the software and deleting the 8829 and Home Office Asset worksheet. Then, you can enter the information again.

I have a single home with a mortgage balance in Jan of $1,000,000. Paid down the loan by $300,000 in Jan with much lower principle payments the other 11 months. Turbo only lets me calculate the average balance by taking 1/1 balance plus 12/31 balance and dividing by two. But if I add all 12 month balances and divide by 12, I get an average balance of less than the required $750,000 instead of higher.  How do I get Turbo Tax to handle a different allowable method of calculating average balance?

Hello, I'm currently a caretaker for a disabled woman under the cdpap program and live in the same home as her; I am wondering if that qualifies me for the difficulty of care exemption *IRS Notice 2014-7 *? We are employed under Public partnerships LLC but have not heard back on anything related to this.  Please if anyone has advice let me know! I want to file via TurboTax but I dont want to trigger an audit.
