@lorenzo-gordon wrote: "Why am I still waiting for state refund after 2 months of filing?" You didn't mention the particular state, but here's some information about state refunds in general and how to check on yours. That time frame may or may not be unusual, depending on the state. Some states are fairly quick with refunds, while other states can take a long time processing returns--even several weeks. Here are some things you should check: First, you need to be sure your state return was successfully filed. If you efiled, be sure your efiled state return was accepted. If you used Online TurboTax, you can check by looking at the Tax Home in your Online account. Or did you choose to file by mail instead? TurboTax does not mail it for you. If you chose that method, you have to print, sign, date, and mail it. The FAQ below tells how to check on a state refund. When you scroll down further there, you will see a link for your state to get to its refund lookup tool. Some state revenue department websites have a FAQ section or info on their refund lookup page that tells about how long it takes in that particular state. FAQ: How do I track my state refund? https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_... After checking all of the above, if your processing is taking longer than the usual time frame for your state, you can phone your state department of revenue's customer service to see if they can tell you the reason for the delay.

@ willette-rucker wrote: Why is green dot holding my refund and has not released it yet? I spoke with the IRS and they stated green dot deducts their part and then deposits the balance in your account. It's been a month and they have not released my deposit yet. The number I have to call them you have to enter an account number in order to get an operator and I don't have an account to enter. Can anyone help me get my refund?! If the IRS says they sent your refund to Green Dot Bank, that makes me think you chose to pay your TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund. If so, that is handled by Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, also known as SBTPG. SBTPG happens to be a Green Dot company, but to check on your refund you do not phone the bank directly. SBTPG administers all of that. You can log into SBTPG's refund lookup tool to see if you see information about your refund. At the link below, choose the "For Taxpayers" portal at: https://www.sbtpg.com/ If needed, SBTPG has a phone contact page at the following link. It also shows their business hours. Even when they are closed, you may be able to get automated info, or you can log in as above. https://help.sbtpg.com/hc/en-us/articles/230084587-Contact-Information

MESSAGE FROM TURBO TAX
“Check This Entry
Schedule KW-2 (1): State ID number must consist of 9 numbers, cannot be all zeros, and cannot have preceding spaces. Return to the federal return to where the State ID number was entered and make sure it is 9 digits. If the state ID number is 6 digits long, please add 000 to the beginning of the number to make it 9 digits. 999999999 is not a valid state ID and will cause an EF reject.”

Why does my 2025 TT Premier "Wages & Income" summary's "State and Local Tax Refunds on Form 1099-G" line show "Available now" and not my prior year's CA state tax refund amount even after my "Update" of this section? For 2025 CA 540 form Line 72 (2025 California estimated tax and other payments), our prior year 's CA tax refund was added to estimated taxes paid, is this correct? My 2025 CA voucher 1 was $1,500, voucher 2 was $1,530, additional voucher 2 was $470 , voucher 3 was $0, and voucher 4 was $1,500. All 2025 CA vouchers totaled to $5,000. Prior year CA refund was $13,307 (received a physical check from FTB in 2025, with some added interest). Prior year federal return had standard deduction and prior year state return had itemized deductions. So, Line 72 now shows a whopping $18,307 payment. Is this correct? I sense that something is wrong with the TT software.

Thanks for the reply! I did mark the question “I inherited the IRA” as "no" as I misunderstood the question & thought it meant did I inherit the IRA from the brokerage – No, it came from my deceased Mother. When I switched it to Yes, the $2305 RMD showed up as taxable on line 4b and Form 8606 corrected to include the full $8000 basis on lines 1, 3, and 14. I am in the process of filing an amended 2024 1040 X Federal & state return to pay the additional tax for the RMD 😐 The IRA Info Wkst still lists the $7485 Conversion (for 2024 done on 4/14/25) as a nontaxable conversion amount for both 2024 & 2025 (?) Maybe it will correct itself? I have another question about 8606 Traditional IRA basis: For tax year 2021 I performed a backdoor Roth conversion in calendar year 2022 and ended up with a $931 remaining basis on 2022 Form 8606. I forgot to report this on my 2023 Return, but on the 2024 Amended Return I added the $931 in at the prompt to enter the Traditional Basis as of 12/31/23. I did see that if I missed an 8606, I can print out a 2023 Form 8606 to show the carryforward basis and mail it to the IRS with an explanation and hopefully no charge? Thanks for your help!
