there is no confirmation of payment other than what you printed out. the IRS can take 10 days to actually withdraw the funds. Check your funding source.

The completed 1040 form showed "X" in the routing and account numbers in the form for the "Refund" section, so I was unsure if it was submitted for payment or refund. I ended up calling support. Support was able to confirm that Direct Pay information was submitted when the tax return was filed. And got some confirmation that I should wait up to 72 hours to make sure it goes through since there is a processing time. I think the interface for TurboTax could make this more clear that Direct Pay information was submitted and provide an expected timeline of when funds would accessed. Payment information came early in the filing process, so I was unsure if going back to fix any information would interrupt that process. Bugs are common in software, especially now in the age of AI. The payment and refund part of the process is the biggest part of the process and seemed more like an after thought in TurboTax. Seeing 2 different links for payment options shown twice on the page after payment was supposedly made when the taxes were filed rather than some kind confirmation that payment information was submitted made matters worse.

I use the desktop version of TurboTax. I filed a Federal extension request at the Easy Extension website and made a payment in the process 4 days ago. I received a confirmation from TurboTax that the extension has been approved, but no confirmation about the payment. The IRS website has no record of my payment. How do I know that my payment was delivered to the IRS?

I tried that and it did not work. There was no provision in the Credits Section to address the property tax credit. The credit did not appear on line 16a of Form 1. I overrode line 16a, but that prevented TurboTax from electronically filing the return. This is TurboTax for the Mac.

TT QBI deduction has a bug in previous disallowed loss freed up in current year when I have a QBI gain. Check your Schedule E Worksheet, Qualified Business Income Deduction Smart Worksheet, Line H3.a, Previously disallowed losses freed up in current year. That negative number offsets your current gross QBI gain, which reduces QBI and further QBI deduction. TT over exaggerated my number (much more negative than my calculation), and completely wiped out my adjusted QBI, in the result dramatically reduced my QBI deduction. That number comes from the same Schedule E Worksheet, but QBI (Section 199A) Losses by Year Smart Worksheet below, subsection Previously disallowed passive losses by year. It should be the sum of all rows of Freed up loss from year 2018-2024. Therefore verify each row amount. In my case TT double counted some rows.

The manager because that's his business to handle all the details of being your property manager.
Q. If you did not have a middleman manager, would you then be required to issue a 1099-MISC?
A. No.
It became a little fuzzy under the 2018 tax law. But, landlords are, generally, still not require to issue 1099 forms to service providers.

But, a landlord 1099 may be required to qualify for the Qualified Business Income (QBI) deduction. Reference: https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/do-landlords-need-to-file-form-1099-misc.html
Most rental properties do NOT qualify for the QBI deduction. Reference: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/investments-and-rental-properties/discussion/do-i-need-to-issue-a-1099-misc-to-a-contractor-for-my-rental-property/00/595692/page/2

First, you need to be sure your state return was successfully filed. If you efiled, be sure your efiled state return was accepted. If you used Online TurboTax, you can check by looking at the Tax Home in your Online account. Or did you choose to file by mail instead? TurboTax does not mail it for you. If you chose that method, you have to print, sign, date, and mail it. The FAQ below tells how to check on a state refund. When you scroll down further there, you will see a link for your state to get to its refund lookup tool. Some state revenue department websites have a FAQ section or info on their refund lookup page that tells about how long it takes in that particular state. FAQ: How do I track my state refund? https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_... After checking all of the above, if your processing is taking longer than the usual time frame for your state, you can phone your state department of revenue's customer service to see if they can tell you the reason for the delay.

Here's more info: If you are sure you are getting a Federal refund, there is no penalty for a late Federal return. State rules might vary. If you owe taxes due, however, and if your efile rejected prior to the deadline, you have a 5-day grace period to make the correction and resubmit the efile or to postmark a paper return to avoid a failure-to-file penalty. However, any taxes due still should have been paid by the April 15 deadline; otherwise there would be a failure-to-pay penalty. If you owe taxes due, you should pay as soon as possible by successfully filing and paying (or paying at the IRS website or your online IRS account) to "stop the clock" on any failure-to-pay penalty and interest.

It failed again this year. If you have to install the state tax module before you let TurboTax import last year's form, then the TurboTax software should make you do it in that order. This year I went through more of the questions and it asked for the LT and ST carry loss forward and told me what lines to get out from on last year's MA forms. It's so frustrating that TurboTax knows where the information is but does not get it.
