To edit or fix local city taxes in TurboTax, you must adjust the source document (like a W-2 or 1099) or visit the State section of your return. Most local taxes are not entered independently but flow from the information provided in the federal interview. Start by checking your W2 or 1099 entries.
Next, in TurboTax, select the state return. Proceed through the state interview until you see a screen for Local City Taxes or Cities You Lived/Worked In. Select the specific city to edit its details or add a new locality.

That is common. You enter both of them. After you finish entering the first one, you click on Add W-2. Make sure every 2025 W-2 you received is entered on the same tax return.

MY DEPENDENT HAD A JOB
If your dependent has a W-2 for his after-school job, summer job, etc. you do not include the information on your own return. You can still claim your child as a dependent on your own return. He/she can file his own return for a refund of some of his withheld wages from boxes 2 or 17 (he won’t get back anything for Social Security or Medicare), but MUST indicate on it that he can be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s return. (Supervise this closely or prepare it for him!)
If your dependent’s earnings were over $400 and were reported on a 1099Misc or 1099NEC then he must file a return and pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare.

Select Skip this import and you should see a screen with investments types from which you can select.
I just did this on my Mac with no problem.
If you are seeing a blank screen, try some troubleshooting steps:
Try running a manual update. To update the Mac version of TurboTax:
Hover your cursor over "TurboTax 2025" on the very top bar menu next to the Apple logo.
Select Check for Updates from the drop-down menu.
You will then see either a message "TurboTax is up to date" or instructions to run the update.
Try closing TurboTax, restarting your computer, and logging in again.

I filed my Taxes with Turbo Tax, and what should have been a "Free" Filing, cost me $79.00 and I manually entered all the tax information myself. It would not even let me continue until I paid the $40.00, where I live there is no City or State Taxes that have to be filed. Now, if the "Federal" filing isn't free, then just be "Honest" and filers will accept that, but do not come on the back end of the transaction and state the amount paid is $79.00. I am requesting a "Refund" of the money I had to pay just to file my taxes.

I am having this same problem. Box 2, 4 and 7 are correct but line 8 is only showing what’s on 7 and what’s in 2 and 4 is printed outside in the same manner as above. I have not filed yet but it is greatly understating my tax liability. I am trying to work with support on the issue but haven’t found a solution yet.

Be aware that the final entry says Transmit my returns now, even though the extension is being transmitted.

Florida has no state income tax, so if CA wages/taxes are listed incorrectly, you may need to file a CA nonresident return to get a refund of any taxes paid if it’s not fixed.

Since New York and Florida are not community property states, you are generally free to allocate the interest income from your joint account in any way you both agree, provided that 100% of it is reported across the two returns.
TurboTax often flags 1099 entries that are marked "Joint" when you are using a Married Filing Separately (MFS) status. To resolve this, do not check Joint. Even though the bank account is physically joint, you should enter the 1099-INT in TurboTax as if it were yours alone (or yours only for your half).

The Teacher Retirement System of Texas is not an IRA. A Form 1099-R for a distribution from that system would not have that IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box marked, so it should not be marked on TurboTax's form. If the Form 1099-R that you received has the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box marked, it is a distribution from a traditional IRA, not from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. If this form is from an IRA as indicated by the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box being marked on the Form 1099-R provided by the payer, delete and reenter this Form 1099-R in TurboTax.
