If you are paper filing, you could have mailed your return as early as the day you completed it. If you had e-filed your return when you completed it on 1/30, you do not need to mail it.   Here is where to mail the return since you live in TN per the IRS:   If you don't have a payment: Department of the Treasury Internal Revenue Service Austin, TX 73301-0002   If you are enclosing a payment: Internal Revenue Service P.O. For two years in a row now Turbo Tax will not apply the joint filing credit to our Ohio tax return. However, the Ohio tax website does correctly apply the joint filing credit so I have to prepare my Ohio tax return on Ohio’s free tax website.  We have at least $500 in qualifying income (each) and meet all of the requirements to receive this credit.  I have read all previous comments on this topic which did not solve this discrepancy.  Can Turbo Tax solve this please?  I have pension (1099-R) and SS income and my wife has W-2 income

I am going to lose my **bleep**. This is as if this am, Feb 22:   Help When will tuebotax llow me to file my taxes with the form 8915-f TurboTax typically allows the filing of Form 8915-F once the IRS officially opens the filing season for that tax year and TurboTax updates its software accordingly. Although the IRS has accepted the form since December, TurboTax's filing block for Form 8915-F may remain in place until the software fully supports filing for that specific tax year. It is very likely that TurboTax will remove the filing block for Form 8915-F soon within the 2025 tax season, as TurboTax updates its system to accept all IRS accepted forms. However, no exact date is provided for when this block will be removed.

You cannot turn off the needs review feature.  Usually when TurboTax asks to review 1099-B transactions, it's likely that there are blank fields that TurboTax wants a value in.  Enter zero in any blank fields and TurboTax should no longer ask to review your entries.  You may need to do this multiple times, but just work through it until TurboTax stops asking you.   Additionally, look for any red-highlighted fields that TurboTax identifies as "needs review" and make the appropriate modification.  You will want to have some sort of value or information entered in the following fields:   Cost basis Date acquired Description Proceeds Date sold See the following link for more information on the "Needs Review" screen: How do I fix multiple “Needs Review” transactions?
Excellent.  Thank you!
I was having the same issue in Turbotax desktop version. I quit Turbotax, restarted my computer and tried again. SUCCESS! Recommend trying that before you give up!

Greetings all. So I'm working on entering income from a Trust in which I am the Trustee and my parents are the grantors. I received 1099B's for the Trust, that show both Long Term and Short Term Capital Gains. TurboTax is asking if any of these investments were acquired from a decedent? So if I'm reading this correctly, the answer would be "Yes", since these accounts were previously owned by my parents and passed to the Trust when it was created. Is that correct? Which would mean that all gains would be treated as long term? As always, many thanks for your expert input.

Without a doubt, this is the worst tax software I have ever used.  I have been using tax software for at least 25 years.  I had trouble from the start.  It took me 25 minutes to get the software loaded.  The information on the card which came with it was wrong.  normally in the past it would take me 4-5 hours to complete my taxes.  This year I spent close to 15 hours this year. Next year it may be TaxCut for me.
I have a similar situation - but the estate received 3 1099s and two of those were from Roth IRAs where the amounts were not taxable. How do we report what is taxable and what is not correctly?

One reason your return can't be efiled right now is that it might have a form that is not available for efiling right now.  State and federal forms are released on different dates.  You can visit the following TurboTax help article to see if any of your forms are currently unavailable.   When will my individual tax forms be available in TurboTax?   If all your forms are available and you can check some of our common solutions.  If your tax return can't be e-filed for some reason, TurboTax will let you know.   If your issue continues, contact us again and give us more details.    @yleandro
