I was able to download without purchasing it and can not find a link to purchase it so i can get my license code for activation. If you are buying the 2024 Business Edition (for partnerships, C-corp, S-corp, etc.), you can go to the following page. Be sure you are on the 2024 product page there. Scroll down about a third of the page, and you should see the Business Edition displayed as the right-most product shown on the screen with a price of $190 for Federal. https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/ It should show you the license activation code on the order confirmation screen and should also email it. If you have trouble finding your license activation code after purchasing, see this: https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/product-system-requirements/find-license-code/L4GHDgGpr_US_en_US

This is a problem every year, mostly because TurboTax changes a little bit every year, and the instructions that applied last year don't apply any more. Your instructions here may be perfect for the online version, but do not seem to apply the 2025 Desktop version. In particular, there does not seem to be a "I'll type it in myself" option, and there is no " Do any of these situations apply to you?" form, or a checkbox that says "I need to file a substitute 1099-R." Can you (ie, Intuit) provide a complete guide, hopefully with either screenshots or at least accurate instructions, on how to actually do this? If you (Intuit) can't prepare a complete guide, can you at least give me specific instructions on how to input pension received from a foreign govt? Thank you.

Since you are using online, you'll have to create an account for her. You can not use your account because it can have only one party's return. Doing a second return in the same account overwrites the first. You will need to complete Form 8615 because the kiddie tax applies. The parents' return should be done first because certain information from it must be entered on the 8615

The IRS does not need details of transactions that are properly reported on lines 1a and/or 8a of Schedule D (See exceptions 1 and 2 starting on page 3 of 8949 instructions - link below). These are 1099-B transactions for which proceeds and tax basis are reported to the IRS without adjustments, such as wash sales. All other transactions are reported on Form 8949. If each transaction is detailed on the 8949, nothing further needs to be submitted to the IRS. However, summary totals for each type (A,B,C,D,E,F,X as shown on the 1099-B) may be entered on the 8949. Code M must be entered on lines that report multiple transactions. In this case, the 1099-B or substitute must be submitted to the IRS using Form 8453 - see instructions. It's possible you don't see Form 8453 because you didn't enter code M.

@jp69 1040X process in TurboTax is delayed to sometime after 1040 e-File is opened. You would probably not be able to e-File 1040-X - for any year - until TurboTax opens "AMEND" command. But what do I know, I could be wrong. @carefreeLA After amending, TurboTax will not breakout new or changed forms for you. You have to do that yourself by careful visual comparison.
