I will never use your service again this is the second year I have had an issue with my taxes, and for good measure the "supervisor" started the conversation by attacking me, blaming me for the issue, insulted me, talked over me, asked questions he would not allow me to answer, finally asking me what he could do to resolve the situation and hung up on me when I tried to answer. I will never use your company again. I do customer service for a living and I would be fired if I spoke to a customer in that manner. I am putting your company on blast. I paid $88 for the convinience since you already had my info. Only to have my return delayed by 3 weeks I even inputted all the information myself. Long answer short, I did the work, your system (again) had a hiccup. So I am waiting another three weeks for my return. No one within my earshot will ever file with you again.

No, don't reduce Column A on the 1095-A; that's the premium amount that is charged monthly by the insurance company. Reduce Column C, which is the amount that was advanced to you to pay your premium. If your Column C is $0's, enter the amount of HRA you received each month. This should eliminate or reduce the PTC that is calculating for you. @ReynaLBall [Edited 2/16/2026 | 10:31 am]

Yes, this is how it is reported in TurboTax.
Go to Wages & Income > Retirement Plans and Social Security (1099-R).
Edit your state pension 1099-R.
Continue past the main box entries until you see a screen titled "Do any of these uncommon situations apply?"
Check the box for "This money is from being a Public Safety Officer."
The next screen will specifically ask for the amount of health insurance premiums you paid (up to $3,000).
Since you've already filed and the $3,000 reduction wasn't applied, you will need to file an Amended Return (Form 1040-X).. The amended form is not available until 2-25, so you will need to wait for this. Here is how to file once it's available.
How to Start the Amendment (1040-X) After 2-25
TurboTax Online:
Log in and go to your Tax Home.
Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and select 2025.
Select Amend (change) return and then Amend using TurboTax Online.
TurboTax Desktop:
Open the tax file you already filed.
Go Federal>other tax situations
Other Tax forms
Select Amend a Filed Return

Thanks, I tried your suggestion and included it in Retirements and Investments. It did make it a non taxable transaction as I didn't need to report the earnings vs the basis. However, it triggered a retirement savings contribution credit. This is great but want to make sure that this was intended and allowable. Scott

After reading several of the other posts of people trying to transfer their old TurboTax years to new computers, it's apparent, I’m screwed. Personally, TurboTax should be ashamed! I read all the documentation pertaining to each year, CD or download type, not one F’n word about (4) year window and than, you’re F’d concerning transferring years to new equipment. total bull**bleep**!

but if you do want to amend your 2024 return here is the general help. Note guidance to save as a different .tax2024 file or make a copy beforehand. if you follow these instructions I'm not sure why it wouldn't populate 8606 for you tho. But you'll need to paper file 8606 either way. https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-change-correct-return-already-filed/L4VjJ9BA2_US_en_US

And then it will make you sign back in only to give you an error msg: There is only single contact for the given Contact Id. Please add additional contact details and try again. Which isn't even grammatically correct... There isn't even a way to "fix" this as I am trying to DELETE the account.

@CatinaT1 - This is not fixed. I have signed off, used incognito. Deleted and re-entered both 1099G and 1098T and still no where to enter room and board.

I need help on the desktop version here is my example. I am paying back Social Security Disability (this is from 2018) I received the 1099 which shows the total amount as a negative. I want to claim the right for repayment in the forms section. I entered in the total amount of payment (3,001) is this correct? Or am I to enter in the tax paid? If so, how do I calculate the tax from that specific tax year? Do I also enter in the 1099 negative number when i am entering in ths right to repayment section?
