You should answer "other" as the other categories mentioned don't apply. It doesn't matter that you rent the property since you won't be depreciating it.

If you already e-filed you are stuck with "5 days early" if the return is accepted. If it rejects you can try to remove that option in the FILE section before you re-file.
"5 days early" means you are supposed to receive your refund from one to five days sooner than the refund date shown on the IRS refund site. If it does not meet that "at least one day sooner" date, they are supposed to refund the $35 fee.
You have to pay attention to the date on the IRS refund site.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

@InNewJersey wrote: does H&R store your data on cloud, where, as someone else posted, it stays forever to be harvested? No idea but consider the following: I set up two test returns, one in TurboTax and the other in H&R Block (both desktop versions). I added a Schedule C business, rental property, stock/bond sales, W-2 info, etc. (i.e., a LOT of data in two MFJ returns). The TurboTax data file on my PC is well over 2.5 MB while the H&R Block file is under 75 KB. Does anyone reading this want to explain why that's the case? If the H&R Block tax data file isn't stored in the cloud somewhere, why is it so tiny in comparison to the TurboTax data file?

Reading through a lot of these issues I have one that is along the same lines. I entered all my tax info and went through all the reviews. My state refund is just about what I paid for state tax for the entire year of 2025. I was expecting about a 1/3 of that for a refund based on the past couple of year's return. My income has increased about 2%+_ish per year. At one point I did see a state refund that looked somewhat correct but it went away as I proceeded to do my taxes (where? not totally sure). I've rechecked my taxes several times and performed the reviews, cleared my cache, logged in on the phone versus the PC (where I am doing my taxes) and everything "looks" correct, Fed refund is in line with what it should be so not sure why my state is not. Any comments would be appreciated. For all I know, I may not even know what I don't even know on this. :(

My niece moved to the States at the end of 2024 and enrolled into the 2025 community college classes which tuition fee needs to be paid in December 2024. When she filed the 2024 tax return she was not able to claim the AOTC because she had no income even she paid the tuition fee in Dec 2024 for the 2025 classes. Is it possible or legal to deduct the 2024 tuition fee from the scholarship amount she gets in 2025 in order to get the AOTC in the 2025 tax return? Thanks

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh
.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst
If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act. Do not expect your refund before early March
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US
Note: “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”. TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing. Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing. If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.
FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE:
https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund
How it works
Where's My Refund shows your refund status:
Return Received – We received your return and are processing it.
Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown.
Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

Did you enter the SSA-1099 in the correct location?
To enter Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business) Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business) Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown) Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the start or update button
If entered correctly, the SS benefits received will be on the Form 1040 Line 6a. If any of the benefits are taxable that amount will be on Line 6b.
Look at your Form 1040 -
You can view your Form 1040 plus Schedules 1, 2 and 3 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.

What do you mean by "the first time through?" Did you e-file and then try to go back to add the SS? Or did you add it during the time you were preparing the return---BEFORE e-filing?
Did you enter it in the right place? And.....there is a screen right after the entry for the SSA1099 that asks if you lived in certain foreign countries in 2025. If you do not answer correctly, or skip past that screen, your SS does not get entered correctly.
Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

I have been using my personal vehicle for 5 years. I placed the total mileage that was used for business and then all vehicle expenses. It determines if it's better to use mileage deduction or actual expense. For 2025, it chose the actual expenses. If I choose actual expenses, will I be able to use the mileage deduction for 2026?

The qualified business income deduction could be coming from a dividend (Form 1099-DIV) from your bank or brokerage. Look at Box 5 (Section 199A dividends). If you have an amount there (likely around $25 in this case), the IRS allows you to take a 20% deduction on it.

I e-filed my W-2s via the Quick Employers forms (like I've done in many previous years) on January 23rd, and it is still showing "e-file processing" and when I move the cursor over the message, it states "processing form at the SSA as of 23 January 2026". I understand from a previous response that it can take a little while, but now it's been almost three weeks, while in the past it was processed within a day or two. Can Intuit/Turbo tax please look into this?

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

Sounds like something got stuck. I know you said you tried a different browser and clearing cache and cookies, but here are a few more things you can things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

1. Yes. You have to organize your stuff and use it for your taxes. You have to give the IRS your log whether it is attached or mailed. You will wait a few years and see if they ask. The IRS has trained over a thousand agents in the last year or two on handling sch D issues and the logs.
2. You are right about adding a message and potentially flagging it: but, it can also be preventive measures. Personally, I would not add it but for some people, they feel better. It sounds like you are in my camp.
Side note: your issue is one that many are dealing with so the IRS may have to work out a method and your screenshot was brilliant. I don't expect you to have a big problem.
