Hello,    I am having this issue. I have removed the form and entered it in manually multiple times and also tried uploading an image of the document. Every time it is changing the state to Indiana when it should be Arkansas. I have verified that the correct zip code is on the 1098-T form with the link provided in previous posts. The zip code on the 1098-T form matches the zip code for Clarksville, AR. However, it is still changing it to Clarksville, IN. I have looked up the zip code for Clarksville, IN and it is not even close to the zip code on my 1098-T. How do I fix this issue? I have tried clearing the caches. I don't want to restart everything completely as I have already paid the fee for filing my taxes and it is not a guarantee my issue will be fixed.

Supposedly amending will open on February 19.    However, you should wait for the IRS to fully process the original return, and first receive your refund (if applicable) before amending.   In the meantime, do not make any changes in the original return.   It has to start off exactly like it was filed when you begin the amending process.   If you amend a Federal return, you may also have to amend the state return.

Thanks for the answer mesquitebean. I was using tables from Morgan Stanley that give income bracket steps that give a percentage to  calculate the tax over the previous step. So it's linear rather than the IRS tables which as you stated are in $50 steps. The extra penny that doesn't show up in the rounded $82,350 put me into the next bracket which costs me $11. I was more worried about the software than the $11 so thanks for setting me straight.
Been waiting for weeks.  Just filed it all on FreeTaxUSA.  Just as simple, they actually have their stuff ready on time, cheaper, and they don't even lobby against us! TurboTax has gone to crap
I filed my 2024 NY federal and state returns. I then received a W2 form from a job i forgot i worked at in 2024.

I'm going to try TurboTax customer service tomorrow. I wonder if it's a software glitch?

This still exists in February 2026. I feel like I'm being gaslit. TurboTax's own dropdown lets me set "--blank--" to show it's blank, and it accepts it. Then, later, Turbotax comes back and says I can't leave it blank, and makes me fill it in. I select "--blank--" from the drop down, and it accepts it. Then, later, Turbotax comes back and says I can't leave it blank.

My student received scholarships that covered her full tuition in 2025 and part of room and board. She had to pay $1800 out of pocket for those expense. The other two semesters she worked at a paid coop program, approved by school, and made $30,000. I wanted to check how would TurboTax calculate her tax liability if we did not claim her as a dependent since she had that income. TurboTax calculated that she is eligible for Education Credit of $1500 and American Opportunity Credit as a tax refund. Is that a mistake?
Thank you for taking the time to reply! 😊 However, I DID put that we actively participate, so it can't be that... 🤔

My student received scholarships that covered all of her tuition last year and she paid about $1800 out of pocket for room and board. She worked through a paid coop, so she made $38,000. I wanted to see how TurboTax will calculate her taxes if we don't claim her as our dependent.  It calculated full Education credit in this scenario. I was wondering why? Was that a mistake?

TurboTax is telling me I have an excess HSA contribution of $3,419 for 2025, and I’m trying to understand why. Here is my full situation: 2024: I was covered under my parents’ family HDHP for all 12 months (Jan–Dec 2024) I was not claimed as a dependent I personally contributed $4,150 to my HSA (no employer contributions) My Form 8889 shows: Family coverage all 12 months Contributions: $4,150 Excess contributions: $0 2025 coverage timeline: Jan–Feb 2025: Family HDHP coverage (parents’ plan) Mar–Aug 2025: No HDHP coverage (Got a job and that job's healthcare plan was not an HDHP) Sep–Dec 2025: Self-only HDHP coverage through my new employer I had self-only HDHP coverage on December 1, 2025 2025 contributions: Employer contributions: $173 Personal contributions: $4127 No spouse What I entered in TurboTax: 2024 coverage: Family plan for all 12 months 2025 coverage: Jan–Feb: Family Mar–Aug: None Sep–Dec: Self-only Spouse coverage: None for all months Additional income under last-month rule: $0 My understanding: Since I had self-only HDHP coverage on Dec 1, 2025, I should qualify for the last-month rule and be allowed to contribute the full self-only limit of $4,300. However, TurboTax says my excess contribution is $3,419. Questions: Should I qualify for the last-month rule in this situation? If so, why would TurboTax still show an excess contribution? Is there a specific question or screen I may have answered incorrectly?

Thank you but I'm still confused.   My employer will not issue me a corrected W-2 because the excess contribution came directly from the 457(b) plan administrator. I called the plan administrator and they told me that I would get the 1099-R next year for the little earnings I made.    It asks me to check the code that applies to me but none of them do so what do I do? (see below)

Thank you for responding! I am not sure how to understand your response though. Are you saying we should assume that we pay for at least some of the tuition cost even though the university scholarship is enough to cover it? Thank you for explaining.
I need directions on how to download and print my 2025 1099r's. I need one from J P Morgan and mine from State Street Retiree Services for Int'l paper company retirement plan

I guess this is my last year with Turbo Tax.  I switched all my computers to Linux.  Windows 11 is a mess and a privacy nightmare.  Why would I put sensitive data on my screen when Windows captures it all.  A tax program must run on Linux!  I might need to try a virtual machine to get taxes done this year.  Erg!  Good bye TurboTax unless you wise up!  Hp Dell and other manufactures are dumping Microsoft!  Wake UP INTUIT!
Same experience downloading (trying to) Fidelity 1099s.  Chrome and Edge bothfail as described, Firefox works.
TurboTax asked me to mark a response as a solution, but they haven’t answered yet!
