TurboTax does not give you a refund date for a state refund, so not sure what you saw.   TurboTax gets no information from the state after you file your tax return.  TT will never know if or when you receive your state refund.     Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.  Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.   STATE RETURN Make sure your state return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   To track your state refund:       ttps://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0
If you have not efiled, you can simply sign in to your account, make the changes, then go through the steps to finalize and print for mailing.  If you have efiled it, you will have to amend.

Yes, you will need to file Form 5329 if the code in box 7 of your Form 1099-R shows an early distribution. If you are over 59 ½  then you can indicate this in the follow-up questions and claim the exception on line 2 of Form 5329 to avoid the early withdrawal penalty.    Login to your TurboTax Account  Click on the "Search" on the top right and type “1099-R”  Click on “Jump to 1099-R” Enter your Form 1099-R Click "Continue" after all 1099-R are entered and answer all the questions. Continue until "Tell us which person may have qualified for a penalty exception" screen and select the edit/pencil symbol.  On the “These situations may lower your tax bill” screen enter the amount under "Incorrect early distributions".

Hi MonikaK1   TT did an update on 1/31/2026 that addressed this issue.  It has been resolved and the missing text now appears on Schedule 1, Line 8z.   Thanks!

I have been trying to report in Premier my college student qualified room and board expenses etc... and have been on the phone with multiple TT specialists and resolution experts.  There is no place in the education section to do this and I get some message as my income is too high and don't qualify. These expenses are qualified distributions from our 529 plan and the TT program will not let me report them and therefore the program is including these expenses as taxable income when they are not.  I even received an email yesterday from TT that the issue was fixed but it is not.  I'm glad to see others are having this problem.  I entered these expenses last year. One of the TT specialists claimed that there were changes under the new OBBB that impacted this but that is not true.  This bill did not impact 529 qualified expense distributions. How do we get this fixed?

"5 days early" means that you get your refund from one to five days sooner than the date shown on the IRS refund site.   You still need to watch the IRS site, because only the IRS is in control of that refund date.     Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds

You may need to delete your entry and reinput under "Other" investment sales from the page "OK, let's start with one investment type." Then choose "Second Home" or "Land" on the sale entry page (What type of investment did you sell?).   With these entries, Code F will be used on the Cap Asset Sales worksheet and on Form 8949 (Long-Term).

If I was notified today of a wrong EIN on a W-2 can I just go into My Documents and correct the number on my accepted returns?
See What does my rejected return code mean and how do I fix it?

If you started a return in TurboTax Desktop and can't finish it, go to FILE at the top menu and 'Start a New Return'.  If you're transferring a prior year return and you saved it in a cloud type or offline environment, copy it to your C drive first before transferring it into a new return.   Files that were saved to these environments can become corrupted when transferring them back.   @dave620

I tested this issue on my Mac. I saw that, if you describe the item in the input field for Other Reportable Income, the description does go to the Schedule 1 Line 8 Other Income Statement, but it doesn't flow through to Schedule 1.   In the alternative to waiting for an update on the investigation you requested, you could choose delete your entries in Other Reportable Income and enter a Substitute 1099-R instead if you wish.    To enter a substitute form 1099-R in TurboTax for Mac follow these instructions:   Find the Retirement Plans and Social Security menu in the Income Summary section of TurboTax Start or Update IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) Choose Add (Another) 1099-R Choose Skip this import  Choose the source of your 1099-R form (Financial Institution or Other) and Continue Enter your pension income into the Form 1099-R entry screens and choose a distribution code (7 for regular pension not an early distribution) When you come to the screen that says Do any of these situations apply to you? Check the box that says I need to file a substitute 1099-R and follow the instructions The follow up screen says "If you're filing by mail, print and attach this form with your tax return. If you're e-filing your return, we'll handle it for you."   The program will ask for a valid EIN . If there is no way to get a valid US EIN from the UK pension system, you can try entering all 9s. However, I cannot confirm whether it can be e-filed with all 9s.
I need to edit my 2025 return before I mail it in. Where can I do that?
