@Riven4 If by "claim him" you mean you want to claim your BF as a dependent, you could claim BF only if he lived with you all year, had less than $5200 of income not counting Social Security, and you provided over half his support.

Thanks for the reply. The contractors did work on a property I am renting. (Surprise, I'm a landlord now somehow)

MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750 (65 or older/legally blind +1600)
MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500 (65 or older/legally blind + $1600)
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)
For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.
The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. Turbo Tax automatically includes it.

Could you be a little more specific as to what form you are looking for? The closest thing I can find isn't a form, but rather Sec. 2035 of the IRS code which deals with estate taxes.

Just finished the Federal portion of my taxes on TT. There was nowhere that I found to get the $6,000 tax credit. And, currently, the Federal refund says $0. I know I did not pay over $6,000 in taxes in 2025, so how do I ensure that I am going to get this credit? Where is it located? FYI, I am using TT online for the first time (always used desktop version in the past). I really don't like the online version, it's more difficult and seems like it is missing some steps that I have done in the past. Just wondering if it's either not there yet (the $6k credit) or if I just missed it or if it somehow gets added at the very end. Appreciate any help.

Re: Charitable Contributions I have charitable contributions of household items from different dates during 2025. No individual contribution is more than $5,000, but the sum of all contributions in 2025 is more than $5,000. For filing purposes, do I need to provide the IRS with an itemized list for each? Now that “it’s deductible” is gone, is there any tool out there that will allow for a direct upload of charitable donation data (as it’s deductible did) into TurboTax? Thanks

I can't see where the other programs allow import of ALL of your donations into their programs. They do help you value the donations you made, but it appears you have to enter them into the programs.

You do not send a Form 1099-NEC to a contractor who provided a service on your personal residence.

Are you running a business for which the contractor performed work, or are you just the homeowner who paid a contractor for something? If you are just the homeowner -- not a business -- you do not issue a 1099NEC to a contractor. Work done on your own home is not deductible for you, and the contractor is responsible for reporting their own self-employment income.

I paid for work to be done on my (rental) house, how do I send the contractor a 1099-NEC? I have their W-9. Edit: the house is a rental property

@judgedcm wrote: I believe HR Block has an integrated module to track charitable donations with valuations for my donations. I'm posting a screenshot of their "integrated module" (DeductionPro) below. As you can see, you select the category and other information from a dropdown. I see no way to import a .csv file for that module of the program.

Once again, for the 2025 tax season, property taxes on an additional home cannot be entered directly on the deductions page. I guess I'll have to wait for the complete update to add the number on the tax form directly. Items like this are an irritant, and make on think Turbotax is not worth the money.

Who is "him" that you want to claim as a dependent on your tax return - your fiancé or the child? The previous replies assume you mean the child.

Depends on what kind of income. If you are waiting to enter a 1099R---January 21.

Sorry--no. If you already e-filed it is too late to seek the advance refund loan.
