you'll need to file amended returns for 2023 and 2024. in the 8889 /HSA section of Tuirbotax indicate you did not have a HDHP. this will result in form 5329 being generated and you will lose any HSA deduction and owe a 6% penalty on the lower of the contributions or account balance
contact the administrators and tell them you are withdrawing excess contributions from 2023 and 2024 in 2025 you'll need to withdraw the entire balance. you will pay taxes on the income and be subject to a 20% penalty for the nonqualified HSA withdrawal.

If you were never married, then he can't legally claim the twins as dependents unless they lived in his home the entire year.
To allow him to claim the biological child you share, you can download this form, print it, fill it out, sign it, and give it to him. This form says that although the child lived with you, your ex is allowed to claim the child for 2025. (You can make the form effective for one year at a time or for future years as well, I would probably stick to one year at a time.) He must mail the original signed form to the IRS after he e-files, he should keep a copy for his records.

3) if you e-filed very late then it's possible the notice was sent before you e-filed
4) if you e-filed did you get an acceptance e-mail?
there could be other reasons
have you checked the IRS website to see what it shows? what does it show?
https://www.irs.gov/
since it could be fake best not to call the number of the noticce. you can call the general number 1-800-829-1040 . you could also file IRS form 15103

You could just go back to MY INFO, click her name and change the way you answered the questions about her OR you can go to MY INFO and delete her as a dependent. If you are not claiming her you do not need to enter anything about her on your tax return, unless you have a signed 8332 with another parent who is claiming her and you are trying to file as HOH.
Or....if you just want to clear and start over

An extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. It provides additional time to prepare the necessary paperwork and ensure accuracy, thereby helping taxpayers avoid a failure-to-file penalty. . It is my understanding that in order for my son to get the full SSI amount that we needed to enter into a room and board agreement. And that made it taxable income and from what I read from people in similar situations that would be classified as a room rental and need to be entered on the Schedule E.

Hello, I'm hoping someone could help me with my situation... I believe I was eligible to contribution self - post tax money in an HSA account because I have HDHP but was not aware that I have received the Medical reimbursement fund from my company - it's also "general medical reimbursement". I've tried to contact the tax advisor but it's costly ($7xx) - I did try to ask ChatGPT multiple times and I got different answers every time. I feel like the blind leading the blind. Bottomline, I just want to fix it - I believe I was eligible to contribute but turned out, I've made a mistake... My situation was, I have contributed max for 2023, 2024 and 2025. so far, I have removed the contribution out from the account with the reason of "mistakenly contributed" I understand that I'm good with 2025 as it's within the deadline of this year. However, 2023 and 2024 had passed. How should I fix it? In 2023 and 2024, I also taken a deduction when filed the tax for both years as well... I don't think I won't be become eligible any time soon (as long as I choose to stay with the same company). What is the best way to fix the issue... I know I might have to file 1040x, 5329 and 8889? I also know that I'd need to pay 6% and 20% penalties? If so, do I need tax advisor to do it for me? Or I can send out the docs myself..... I have read tons of articles and posts in many websites but again, it seems there're various responses and answers so I would hope anyone here can help me... Please help. Thank you so so much in advance!

In TurboTax 2025 when entering an asset in Sch F, the application does not appear to allow Bonus Depreciation at 100%. The application limits the Bonus depreciation to 40%, which was the allowed percentage in previous tax law prior to the OBBB revisions. The new OBBB reinstated 100% depreciation deduction. Please confirm TurboTax 2025 status on this matter. The application was just updated and this section made available today. Thanks.

And...again....what are you trying to accomplish by entering rental income instead of just treating this situation as family cost sharing?

You say that you filed a 2024 return. Was the return accepted?
DID YOU E-FILE?
Did you e-file? Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted or rejected your federal e-file. If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.
Check your e-file status:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
What does it say in your account? Does it show that the return was accepted? Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”
If you discover or realize that your e-file was rejected, you will need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and file it by mail now, since e-filing is closed for returns for tax year 2024.
