If your BF lived with you for the entire year in 2025 and had less than $5200 of income---not including any Social Security -- then you may be able to claim him as a qualifying relative dependent and get the non-refundable $500 credit for other dependents.
WHAT IS THE CREDIT FOR OTHER DEPENDENTS?

There is nothing else through the income tax system to "pay" you for taking care of your boyfriend.

Are you referring to the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool? https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund If it's still processing, then only the IRS will know what they are doing with your return. You'll need to phone them and ask them what the holdup is. IRS: 800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday If you get an AI robot, don't say "refund," or you may get transferred to an automated response. Say something like "speak to customer service agent about my tax account." You may have to say it more than one time before it gets tired and transfers you. If you don't get good information when you phone the IRS, you can phone the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service to see if they will help you. They are more likely to help if you are having a financial hardship. Every state has one or more IRS taxpayer advocate offices, and there is also a national office. See this article for more info on how the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service works: http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc104.html and https://www.irs.gov/taxpayer-advocate

TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after you file your tax return. TT cannot find out anything for you. Your only source of information is the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday

And.....filing at the earliest possible date can lead to long delays instead of a quick refund. Sometimes it is the very early returns that are filed before the IRS even begins to accept e-files are the ones that end up under review or requiring identity verification, causing you to wait for months. For your 2025 return----time it differently and wait until at least mid-February to file.

Are you referring to a W-2 for a 2024 return that was due last April 2025; i.e., are you needing to file a 2024 return? Or are you referring to a current 2025 return that people will start filing next month?

Did you efile, or did you choose to print and file by mail? If you chose to mail, did you physically print, sign, date, and mail it? TurboTax does not mail it for you. If you efiled, then you need to be sure the state tax return was successfully efiled and accepted. After you efiled, did you get an email saying it was accepted? If you filed online, you can check in your account. Log in, and in the left menu column click on Tax Home tab. If you only have a minimal menu and there's no Tax Home tab, then you'll need to start a 2025 return just to answer a few screens (you don't actually have to prepare the 2025 return.) When you go through enough screens, the left menu column will change, and you will see Tax Home tab in the left-column menu. When you are at the Tax Home page, scroll way down to the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents." Choose tax year 2024. What does it show for the state return--does it say accepted, rejected, printed, started, or something else? You can no longer be REJECTED because you can't even try to e-File. e-File is closed for 2024. Use US Mail for 2024 tax return.

Are you a CPA licensed in USA and in MI? Can you help me file tax returns? We did not oay FICa for wife in 2023 for her internship and in 2024 for her job. My previous COA told my spouse to start paying FICA from early months of 2025 as they said we must pay FICA taxes and are cannot have both ways of trwting wife as resident and not paying FICA taxes. We potentially lose out on close to 4k due to this. We did not file form 8843 for wife for 2023 and 2024 tax returns. What should we do now?

See What is Refund Advance? for details about the Refund Advance loan, particularly the sections about "Availability" and "Timing." Note that you do not get the loan until the IRS has accepted your e-filed tax return. The IRS will start accepting tax returns in late January. They have not yet announced a specific date.
