Also I'm wondering if you just upgraded your Deluxe to the Home & Business program?  How did you buy the Business?  Did you upgrade inside the Deluxe program?    For how much?  If you upgraded Deluxe to H&B you don't need to download anything.  It should automatically open the extra features to your program and say Home & Business at the top.  But the H&B program won't do Estates and Trusts.

To discontinue offering TT 2025 desktop for Windows 10 machines is a great disservice to all loyal TT customers. Outrageous. Win 10 will continue to be supported by MS for at least one more year for a nominal fee. My PC cannot handle Win 11. I do not wish to accept the various comparative shortcomings of your online version. You are attempting to "force" customers to whose machines cannot run Win 11 to buy a new machine. Fine. You pay for it, you install it, you transfer all my files, you ensure all set-ups of all applications are exactly how they were previously - to my satisfaction.   I urge Intuit to rescind this poorly conceived decision.

Microsoft will continue to support Windows 10 in exchange for a payment of a one-time fee until October 14, 2026. My computer is not compatible with Windows 11. I urge Intuit to reverse this draconian decision which is customer abusive. I much prefer the desktop version compared to the online version (less functionality, less visibility, less privacy and control).    Should Intuit fail to change course, I am hopeful that someone (or group) that has the resources seeks and gains injunctive relief. The planned discontinuation of desktop Turbo Tax for Windows 10 computers represents a horrific disservice to your loyal customers.   Once again, I urge you to reverse course for at least on more year, if not indefinitely.

Months ago I filed my returns and ended up owing $686 in Federal taxes, while receiving a return of $1596 from the state of Wisconsin. Of course the TurboTax page shows it as a net return of $910. No big deal, I’d get the $1500 return and just pay the $686 right away. I finally get my state return a few months ago and it’s the $910. I was very confused and thought maybe they paid the federal, but didn’t think that was possible. Today I get a letter from the IRS stating I owe $686 + a 5 month late fee. I’ve been using TurboTax for years and never had any problems. I’m honestly just confused. I thought maybe I made a mistake on my taxes, but I didn’t receive anything in the mail regarding amendments and it’s such a leap for the missing number to be exactly the same if there were any offsets (which there shouldn’t have been).

I'll go ahead and mention this in case you already have your IP PIN for this year:   Here are 3 ways to get to the right place to enter the IP PIN in Online TurboTax.  You only need to use one method.   You can choose which method works for you the best.   Once you've ppened the interview back up, click in the top right on SEARCH icon (magnifying glass). Enter the term IP PIN without quotes.  When entering, ignore the dropdown menu, and instead click the small magnifying glass on that same line. Then click on Jump to IP PIN. Or here's a second way: With your return open, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then choose TOOLS. In the Tools window choose TOPIC SEARCH. Enter the term IP PIN without quotes. In the selection list highlight IP PIN and click GO. Or here's a third navigation method: With your return open, in the left menu column, click Federal. Then choose subtab  Other Tax Situations. If this is your first time in that section, answer the preliminary questions, and it may ask you if you have an IP PIN.  If so, indicate "yes", and keep following the screens as it guides you to enter it. If it doesn't, such as if you've previously been in that section, click on "See all uncommon tax situations" to see all the topics in that section. In the "Uncommon tax situations" list, scroll down to Other Return Info, and expand to see the subtopics, one of which is Identity Protection PIN.

@ debrairwin1921  asked:  "Where to find IP PIN?"   What do you mean by "find IP PIN."  Do you need to know where to enter the 6-digit IP PIN in Online TurboTax, or do you need to know how to retrieve this year's current IP PIN from the IRS website?   Do you have the new IP PIN required to be used in 2025 calendar year filings?  Last year's will not work this year.   See my next comment below on how to navigate to enter the IP PIN.

What is the exact wording at the Tax Home--accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?   If the Tax Home in Online TurboTax says it was accepted, what is showing at the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool?  Does it show up there?  Is there any message? https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund   Here are some tips when using that tool:   Be sure you enter the correct tax year, SSN, and filing status. Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount.   Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a summary screen.   Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount to use in the tool, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a.
Would TT please warn customers first?? Now I have to get a refund for the TT upgrade
When I log in to turbo tax it says that I filed & was accepted so I am thrown off by that email and I’m lost and I just need my tax return

Sorry no.   The Business program is only for Windows computers.
Form 1041. It appears TT Business won't do this form on a Mac. Is there another TT/Mac product that will?
Thanks...this is very helpful

Yes you will need to use the Online Premium version for rentals and investments.  Are you switching from Windows 10 to Online?   If you want to test out the Online version......   When 2025 Online opens in November or early December you can transfer from your 2024 return. Or if you want to test Online now you could transfer from your 2023 return and enter all your 2024 info again manually and see if it matches your Desktop return. That’s what I would do to test it. If you used the Desktop program for 2024 here’s How to transfer into the Online version, expand the blue link if you used the CD/download last year https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/transfer-last-year-return-turbotax-online/L279eUvY2_US_en_US?uid=l8w7nlbv And see How to switch and transfer from the Desktop program into the Online version........ https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-topics/help/how-do-i-switch-from-turbotax-cd-download-to-turbotax-online/00/859756 If you used the Desktop program before you may not like the online version. It has less features and no Forms Mode. And you will have to pay first to see all the forms. All the Online versions do not have the same forms so you may need to upgrade to a higher version. You can only do 1 return per account. And pay for each account. You can use the same email for 5 accounts. Your return is only saved online so be sure to save both the .tax2024 data file and the pdf file to your computer when you are done. In case you need to amend in the future or if you need a copy to get a loan or something. You might not be able to access your online return when you need a copy.
I have been a TurboTax Premier desktop user and am looking at moving to TurboTax online.  Does it have the functionality to correctly deal with investment and rental income and passive losses?
