@gbc12 nothing has changed since August other than MS offering different options to get ESU if those are the "3 plans" you're referring to but whether ESU is $30 or $0 (or free in Europe) isn't a big deal that would influence Intuit really.  Win 10 share in US is down to 35% according to statcounter, and the Intuit decision itself will probably be pushing that share lower within TurboTax user base as most folks will likely take the cue to just sort out their upgrade sooner than later and move on.   https://gs.statcounter.com/windows-version-market-share/desktop/united-states-of-america   See what happens in the final days/weeks here as Win 10 technical support other than ESU is still set to end next week, and tax prep companies release their s/w over the next month or so and we'll see final system requirements - but seems unlikely if not announced by now that Intuit would reverse position on Win 10.  Desktop s/w is only 1% of Intuit's revenue and they're focused on growing the other $20bn of their business.  They're also cleaning house on desktop Basic edition, ItsDeductible and Mac OS 13 (as usual for Mac as they have been dropping support for an OS version annually).

In 2024 I started a business: a small flower farm with event-florist and garden consulting services. I have 2024 income from garden consulting which I'll report on a Schedule C. I have substantial deductions (~8k) which all fall under Schedule F (roses and peonies and longer-term floral crops), but I didn't have a resale certificate yet, so I have no Schedule F / farming income for 2024.    My intention was to treat my Schedule F deductions as regular deductions for a business whose income for 2024 was all Schedule C income, but I'm now concerned that even though the business was open and I took a few customers / made income, that because I don't have 2024 "farming income" the deductions under Schedule F might be categorized as "start-up costs" and subject to the $5000 limit plus amortization.    I'd be very grateful if someone could clarify how I should treat the expenses!
it is a personal return and I am adding a income stream from an LLC that I own.

These forms indicate that there was no distribution from an IRA, so there should be nothing on Form 1040 lines 4a or 4b.  The entries on lines 5a and 5b seem to be correct.   What your relative received were distributions from an employer plan like a 401(k).  The one with codes 4 and G combined in box 7 is for the rollover to an inherited IRA.  The one with code 4 only is for the decedent's RMD from the employer plan which your relative became required to complete upon the death of the decedent.  Only the amount on the code-4 Form 1099-R is RMD, so this is the amount that you should indicate was the required distribution and is only to be entered when entering the code-4 Form 1099-R.    When entering the code-4G Form 1099-R, you need to indicate that no RMD was required and that none of it was RMD.  I suspect that you somehow indicated when entering this Form 1099-R that you again indicated that an RMD of $17,000 was required, causing TurboTax to believe that the total RMD requirement was $34,000 and assess a penalty on this second $17,000 that wasn't taken.

TurboTax (TT) does not automatically prepare a School District return (form SD100), you must initiate it. At the screen, in the Ohio program, titled  "A few things before we wrap up your state taxes"       scroll down to School District taxes.  Or later at the screen  "Your 2024 Ohio Taxes are ready for us to check"     -Click Other situations     -Scroll down to School District taxes.   Usually  the School District Income Tax (SDIT) return  is e-filed with the state return, but there are exceptions. Read the Ohio 'filing instructions" that TurboTax prepares, They will tell you if the SD100 was e-filed or if you have to mail it.

Hi! I’m confused. So I had did my taxes for this year but I got my state but no federal so it took until October for them to tell me that I needed to amend my taxes because I had put 2023 year on a 2024 tax return (I didn’t know at all I was trying to file it because I forgot to file it before so I said I was going to wait) so I did that and filed for amendment return for both and then got rejected for federal so had to resubmit. I wanted to know if I had already got state taxes would they give me state taxes again or would they fix to where I only need my federal? Please help!
And control would be at least 50 percent ownership of each?

On the add-expense-categories page, I select "add more exp cats", "add" a category, and close the modal window. The expense shows on the page with its checkbox checked; no other questions asked; only option is "continue", which goes back to the summary page, but the new cat is not listed.

I had to pay estimated taxes due in April with the state when I got an extension. I owe $4 more than I paid, but TurboTax won't let me pay the amount owed and will only let me pay the full amount.
During filing for dependant box where it says put in social, in case we put in ITIN will the return go forward?
