are you someone's dependent because that rejection code indicates someone claimed you as a dependent on their return? if you were a dependent you must so indicate on your personal info page. if not, then you must paper file your returns because this is not a correctible issue that would allow you to e-file. A state return cannot be e-filed if the federal is rejected or paper-filed.

@taxfiler101 as @VolvoGirl explained adding $2700 to income can change a lot of things on your tax return. it not the self-employment tax that's federal only and at most would add $400. additional federal income taxes at the top bracket of 37% (for taxable income well over $1/2 million) would add about $900. Thus, it would seem you're losing some deductions or tax credits. We have no access to your return. You have to compare your returns before and after line by line to see what changes. Then if you have questions about why a specific line changed post back in this thread.

except for transactions entered on line 1a and 8a of Schedule D, the IRS want's details. Even details of covered transactions enter in summary form on form 8949. regardless of whether or not there are adjustments.
Turbotax is merely following the tax law by telling you that details must be submitted. Whether you do or not is up to you. However, if not, that leaves open the question of whether you filed a timely complete return.

Re: Can Fidelity issue a Corrected 1099-R due to the incorrect 1099-R they sent to the IRS and the CRA? I requested a withdrawal from my IRA of $6,000, instead they withdrew $60,000 (plus sent $6700 to the IRS for withholding), but when I saw it they quickly returned $54,000 as rollover back to my IRA, but the 1099 shows the $60,000 plus as income!!?? The IRS and CRA will see the wrong amount as taxable income. What do I do to correct it when Fidelity refuses to admit the mistake (saying the rollover "corrected" the error) and they will NOT notify the IRS of any error on their part. Now how do I proceed????

@Setoshawn07 asked: "What does it mean by your refund is still being processed a refund date will be issued when it’s available?" It means the IRS is still working on it. How long has it been? If it's been significantly longer than 21 days, here's how you can phone the IRS, if you wish, to see if they can give you any word on what they are doing and how much longer it might take. IRS: 800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday When calling the IRS do not choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line. First choose your language. Then listen to each menu before making the selection. Then press 2 for "personal income tax". Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment". Then press 3 "for all other questions." Then press 2 "for all other questions." It may then ask for your SSN, but do not enter it. Just wait. If it asks for SSN a second time, still do not enter it. Then it will get "tired", and you'll get another menu. Choose 2 for "personal". Then in the next menu choose 4 for "all other inquiries", and it should transfer you to an agent but expect a long wait. I usually use a speakerphone so I can work on something else while waiting.

This answer assumes your 2023 return was prepared in Online TurboTax. Any return prepared in desktop TurboTax will not be in an Online account. Here's how one would normally find past-year online returns and how to troubleshoot for multiple accounts (User IDs) if necessary. Many people end up with more than 1 account. The pathway to download the PDF or tax data file depends on whether or not you have started an online 2024 return. I provide both scenarios below, so choose which one is appropriate for your situation. If you have not yet started a 2024 online return: Sign in to your account. What you see next depends on whether or not you have already started a 2024 return in that account. If your left column menu is minimal, and does not have a Tax Home tab displayed, that would imply you have not started preparing a 2024 return in that account. If you haven't yet started a return, it will start asking you some questions. Answer those preliminary questions (you don't actually have to prepare a return), and then when you are far enough into the process the left menu column will change, and you'll then see a Tax Home option. Do not click the Documents tab. Instead, click on Tax Home. Then on the Tax Home screen, scroll way down to the bottom to "Your Tax Returns & Documents". Expand that section and choose the past year you want. If your past returns are not shown there, then you likely have multiple accounts and signed into the wrong one. I'll tell you below how to troubleshoot. If you have already started or finished a 2024 online return: Log in, and if you've already started a 2024 return in that account, then it may already open at the Tax Home. If not, click the Tax Home tab in the left column menu. Do not use the Documents tab. At the Tax Home scroll down and expand "Your Tax Returns & Documents." If the past returns are not there, see the steps below. If you do all that and can't find the past return, here's how to look for multiple accounts: You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes. A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be. It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all. To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below. When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it. After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access. NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop. Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below. You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session. https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access, here's another method: Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by other parameters.

does your Turbotax account show the returns as accepted? if not, that would be reason for the message you received. another possible issue is that your return(s) have not yet been processed, filing an amended return before this happens can cause issues. i would say your best bet is to contact the Virginia dept of rev then Turbotax customer support as to the e-file issue.

For this information, you will have to pay for TurboTax to see the worksheets that go with your tax return. However, suppose you want to calculate your MAGI for your purposes, for instance, to see how much of your Social Security Income is taxable, or to see the maximum contribution to your retirement account. In that case, you can complete the 590 A 2024 form found on the IRS website, beginning on page 15, which provides Worksheet 1-1, line 7, to figure your modified AGI for traditional IRA purposes. Worksheet 2-1, line 10, is for Modified Adjusted Gross Income for Roth IRA Purposes. I hope this helps and reduces the hostility for asking a very important question, because it is not the same as AGI.
