HI,  I have my taxes prepared every by CPA due to also having an LLC. There was a mistake made to my tax basis this year which was caught AFTER my CPA filed my initial tax Return. My initial tax return showed that I owed both State and Federal Taxes. Once I followed up with a few questions, my CPA realized there was a mistake made and the refiled an Amended tax return, which then showed that I would receive a refund for both State and Federal. She Refiled with days of the initial tax filing. As of today, I had two deductions from my checking from both State and Federal leading me to conclude that my initial has been fully processed. Now, I am concerned that my Amended Return will 1) Not process correclty. 2) Only reflect the initial refund amounts 3) How to even begin the process fo disputing the two drafts with both my state and the federal government, and can I dispute? 4) Will the Refund from the amended return reflect the calculation error and Ill recieve a refund for the deductions in addition to my actual refunds.  I am pretty annoyed that my CPA put me in this position and also didn't explain that this would even be a possibility. Could someone please shed some light. I have tried to research the context around this particular situation, and haven't been able to locate a clear answer.

Already told you ---no.   No one in the user forum has access to your information.  We cannot check your e-file status.   Give it a day or two.  It is not one bit unusual for it to take a couple of extra days for the state to accept an e-file after the federal return has been accepted.

It's not advisable to save your tax files to a cloud-based storage.  If you try to download them to use later, they can become corrupted.  If you can't save on your C drive, use a removable drive.   If you search your computer for .tax2022, you may find a backup copy in Documents > TurboTax.   You can transfer a bit of info from a PDF, but not much.   @acmetom

If there isn't an amount in boxes 16 or 17 of your W-2, leave the boxes in TurboTax blank.  You will be able to e-file.

As long as your return is e-filed by 4/15/25 at midnight (your time), it is considered to be timely filed even if the IRS hasn't approved it yet.  The IRS gets bogged down near the tax deadline, so it often takes longer than usual for them to accept/reject returns.   If for some reason your return gets rejected, you have five days to correct the error and resubmit to avoid any penalties: What if I e-filed on time but my return got rejected after the filing deadline?

You are correct, a foreign address can't be entered as per the Learn More links.   You can enter your foreign address in Forms mode on the CA Information Worksheet.   If you use FM as the state, you are able to enter the details on the form so you can e-file.   You will still need to enter your CA zip code in that field, as it requires a US zip code format.     But you can use the address and city lines to populate your foreign address, so the state of CA will have it and you can still e-file the return.   The learn more links will be updated; thank you!

Given your significant changes in income and family status, it's a good idea to review and potentially adjust your withholding.    Here are a few reasons why: Your hourly wage has more than tripled, which likely means you're in a higher tax bracket now. Being married and having two children can affect your tax situation, including eligibility for various credits and deductions. With only one income, it's important to ensure your withholding is updated to reflect your current financial situation. To help you estimate your withholding and make any necessary adjustments, you can use the TurboTax W-4 Withholding Calculator.  This tool will help guide you through the process and help you determine the right amount to withhold from your paycheck
