This answer assumes your 2023 return was prepared in Online TurboTax.   Any return prepared in desktop TurboTax will not be in an Online account.  Here's how one would normally find past-year online returns and how to troubleshoot for multiple accounts (User IDs) if necessary.  Many people end up with more than 1 account.  The pathway to download the PDF or tax data file depends on whether or not you have started an online 2024 return.  I provide both scenarios below, so choose which one is appropriate for your situation.   If you have not yet started a 2024 online return: Sign in to your account.   What you see next depends on whether or not you have already started a 2024 return in that account.   If your left column menu is minimal, and does not have a Tax Home tab displayed, that would imply you have not started preparing a 2024 return in that account.  If you haven't yet started a return, it will start asking you some questions.  Answer those preliminary questions (you don't actually have to prepare a return), and then when you are far enough into the process the left menu column will change, and you'll then see a Tax Home option.  Do not click the Documents tab.  Instead, click on Tax Home.  Then on the Tax Home screen, scroll way down to the bottom to "Your Tax Returns & Documents".  Expand that section and choose the past year you want.   If your past returns are not shown there, then you likely have multiple accounts and signed into the wrong one.  I'll tell you below how to troubleshoot.   If you have already started or finished a 2024 online return: Log in, and if you've already started a 2024 return in that account, then it may already open at the Tax Home.  If not, click the Tax Home tab in the left column menu.  Do not use the Documents tab.  At the Tax Home scroll down and expand "Your Tax Returns & Documents."   If the past returns are not there, see the steps below.   If you do all that and can't find the past return, here's how to look for multiple accounts: You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes.  A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be.  It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all.   To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below.  When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it.   After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access. NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop.  Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below.  You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session. https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access,  here's another method:          Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by other parameters.

A 2023 return cannot be prepared in Online TurboTax, which is only for 2024.   You would need to purchase 2023 desktop software to install on your computer (see link below).   A 2023 return cannot be efiled with TurboTax; it has to be printed, dated, signed, and mailed.   If you had already started a 2023 online return last year and want to continue it in the desktop software, we can tell you how to download your *.tax2023 data file to open in the desktop software.   Or did you completely finish preparing a 2023 online last year and just need to file it?   You can buy 2023 desktop software directly from TurboTax at this page: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
I have my tax filing information from every year that I’ve ever used TurboTax, via my account, except for last year (2023). Any idea of what that could be about?
Receiving any stimulus, stipends, credits, etc is determental to me, as I just came out of homelessness and am trying to get back on my feet again.

You should view your returns prior to filing.   To fully view them you have to pay for them first.   If you haven't paid yet, see this:    You can have preview privileges of the Federal Form 1040 for free while working on your return as described below, or you can pay in advance for full viewing/printing privileges at will of all forms in your return.    Here are the 2 options:   You can preview your Form 1040 at any time for free.  Here's how:   Open your return, and in the left menu column, choose TAX TOOLS, then choose TOOLS. In the Tools window, choose "View Tax Summary." When the Tax Summary opens, look in the left menu column and choose Preview My 1040. That will show you the Form 1040 and schedules 1-3. Or if you wish to do so, you can pay in advance to view/print the Form 1040 and all forms in your return at will.  Here's how:   Open your return, and in the left menu column, choose Tax Tools, then Print Center. Then choose "Print/save/preview this year's return." On the next screen choose to "Pay now". Note:  It may try to upsell you on add-ons like MAX, which you can choose or decline. The next screen should be an Order Summary.  Review that, and if all is OK, click Continue. It should then prompt you for payment by credit or debit card.  The screen only says "credit card", but it will take a debit card.  If it should offer you the option to "pay later" out of the Federal refund, that can't be used for this purpose.  You will need to pay now by credit/debit card in order to download/print prior to filing. Then you should have an option of which PDF to download/print/view.  "Just my tax returns", or "include government worksheets (optional)", or "include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional.)"  NOTE:  Remember all PDF tax documents and tax data files are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc.  Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.

Ok, we're getting a bit warmer.  But I still have the problem.   I got my timeline a little mixed up.  The corrected timeline of events: For Tax Year 2022, my employer overfunded my HSA by $50 I did not get the excess resolved in 2022 For Tax Year 2023, I contacted the HSA administrator, and had the excess funds removed.  I received the 1099-SA for Tax Year 2023, and filed it with Tax Year 2023 My understanding is that this should have taken the one-time 20% penalty, and resolved the issue Unfortunately, in Tax Year 2024, Turbo Tax still thinks I have an excess contribution. My 2023 1099-SA: From my 2023 Tax return worksheets: My 2023 5329 Part VII (including line 48) and  looks like maybe it did not correctly apply the 20% penalty? But as shown above, I showed the return of excess contributions.   So I'm at a bit of a loss here.  Is this a bug in TurboTax, or am I still doing something wrong?
This is the second turbo tax has added a mythical number as my income when the final form is supposed to ready to file

@Pupitre1  if your name is on the deed, then yes, it is "your property". Presumably the mortgage is in your name as well.      In essence, your parents are your tenants and they are paying you rent. That is taxable income to you. You can deduct the mortgage interest on your tax return.   The fact they are paying the bank directly (rather than paying you rent so you can pay the bank on the mortgage) doesn't change what is really occurring.

Hi TurboTax team,   I live in Tennessee, where all 95 counties have been designated by FEMA under disaster declaration #3625-EM. According to IRS Notice IR-2025-47, all residents and businesses in the state automatically qualify for a tax filing and payment extension until November 3, 2025, regardless of whether they were personally affected by the storms.   https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-all-of-tennessee-qualifies-for-disaster-tax-relief-various-deadlines-postponed-to-nov-3    Despite this, TurboTax continues to send urgent reminders and strongly encourages me to file and pay now, as though the April 15 deadline still applies. There’s no clear option in the software to acknowledge this automatic extension, and no place to enter the FEMA declaration number. This is confusing and concerning, especially for users who aren’t aware of their legal rights under IRS relief.   It feels like the platform’s business model is built around urgency—pushing people to file early and pay full price—even when the IRS explicitly allows more time. Given the lack of proper functionality and communication around this issue, I think it would be fair and appreciated if TurboTax waived my filing fee this year. Sing these notifications contradictory to the federal government creates a fair amount of stress and confusion.    Thanks for your help,

I tried not entering the form as suggested, both federal and state tax  were kicked back/rejected saying form 1095A must be entered on the returns... back to the drawing board.

If you earned $167 in interest during the year you can go through all of your statements and add up the amount you earned while living in each location.  Or, if you lived in Yonkers 2 months and NYC 10 months, you can allocate $28 to Yonkers and $139 to NYC.  The amounts are small.  Don't let it bog you down trying to get the pennies exact.  Everything gets rounded when filed.
I know right.. this new tax exempt Medicaid income is stupid. And I can’t get anyone to give me a straight answer??🙄

Yes, you should amend your return.  Otherwise you will that loss.  It won't be available to offset future rental income or reduce the gain on the sale, if and when you sell the property.  But do not amend your return unless and until it has been accepted by the IRS and you have received any refund you were expecting.  To amend a return in TurboTax:    How do I amend my federal tax return for this year?
