There is no fee to amend a tax return unless the change you are making requires an upgrade to a more expensive version of the software, so it is not clear why you had to pay more when you amended.   We cannot see any of your information.     No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue.  If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help.  Do not use the word “refund.”   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/account-management/contact-turbotax/L2y9ZKpQB_US_en_US?uid=m5s9l2vh

TurboTax does not withdraw money from your account to pay your tax to the state.  Only the state can do that.  TurboTax only passed your information on to the state.  It is up to the state to take the money from your account.   If you scheduled it for 4-25 you should allow some time for the direct debit to post to your account.

If you are self-employed you need to be using online Premium or any version of the desktop download in order to prepare a Schedule C to enter your business expenses that include mileage.   If you are a W-2 employee, you cannot deduct mileage on a federal tax return.

And now your own return claiming the dependent is being rejected?   There are two possible remedies.   One is for you to print, sign and mail your own return that claims the dependent.   The other is to get an IP PIN from the IRS and try to e-file again.   Either way, your dependent has to amend their return to correct their very common mistake, but you do not need to wait for them to amend.  Waiting for them to amend will not help you.       GET IP pin in order to e-file if your dependent’s SSN was claimed on another return   https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-takes-steps-to-help-prevent-refund-delays-by-accepting-duplicate-dependent-returns-with-an-ip-pin-for-2025-filing-season-taxpayers-encouraged-to-sign-up-soon-for-ip-pin-online-account   https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/get-an-identity-protection-pin   When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.       When your dependent amends: Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk   Go to MY INFO.  Click your name.   Go through the screens for the question that asks if someone else can claim you as a dependent.  Say YES.
You can check the status of your return  by going to the Mississippi Department of Revenue website.     @smithmya2014

And....if you actually used a paid version of the software, did you choose to pay your TurboTax fees by having them deducted from your federal refund?   If you made that choice, then in addition to the fees you have to pay to TurboTax, there is a "refund processing" fee that is charged by the third party bank.   How can I see my TurboTax  fees?    https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/review-fees-turbotax-online/L1XnIzgzg_US_en_US?uid=m682vq7k   What is Refund Processing Service?

If your 2023 return was rejected when you tried to e-file it last year, then you should have fixed it and re-filed or you could have filed it by mail.  It sounds like you did neither of those things.   You can still file your 2023 return, but e-filing is closed for 2023, so the only way to file it now is by mail.  You need to print it, sign it and date it in ink, and mail it to the IRS.    If you did not pay your TurboTax fees, you will need to pay before you can print the returns.     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.     Get your 2023 return "under control" and then make another attempt to sort out the issues with your 2024 return.   If the IRS is requiring you to verify your identity to get your 2024 refund, then you will have to take the time and make the efforts needed to do that, or you will never receive that refund.

Please explain what you are really trying to do.  You cannot amend a W-2.   A W-2 is a tax document issued to you by an employer--you cannot change it yourself.   Did you file a tax return and forgot to enter a W-2--and now do you need to amend the tax return to include that W-2?   Or did you enter it incorrectly?   Provide some details.

When a return is rejected, it is not really filed.  If you were not able to electronically file your 2023 return, you should have mailed it in.  If you did not then you never filed a 2023 return.  If this is the case, you should file your 2023 return.     You should also contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service.  They should be able to assist if you have not been able to resolve your issue by contacting the IRS.   You can view, download, and print your tax returns going back up to 7 years if you filed with TurboTax by following the steps below:    If this is the first time you are logging into your account this year:   Sign in to your TurboTax account and select Continue on the screen showing your prior-year summary. Make sure you're using the same TurboTax account (user ID) as in prior years. On the second screen showing product and pricing, scroll down and select Your tax returns & documents. Select the year you want, then select Download/print return (PDF). If the year you're looking for isn't there, it might be in a different account. Go here to find all of your accounts. One of them should have the return you're looking for. If you started your 2024 return already:   Select Documents from the menu Choose the tax year you want Select Download tax PDF How do I view, download, or print a prior-year tax return?
