I cannot find "apply refund to 2026 tax" option in Oregon in Turbotax Deluxe (Windows). In Federal, there is that option, but I cannot find it in Oregon state. Why, and what can I do? I don't seem to be able to even manually edit in Form. I've been using Turbotax for over 25 years and I've never had this problem before.

Do I need to create separate 1099s - one for taxable and one for tax-free interest, then manually adjust the tax-free 1099?

Why is this here? I'm not in Canada, and didn't enter anything related to a Canadian Pension... After entering income from my SSA-1099, I get the 1st screen below. Can't advance past that window, so going back you get the 2nd window below. Now you can delete it and proceed from there. Don't go back to the Social Security screen, however, or it just goes back to Canada again!

This response to "Why is there a processing fee to file federal taxes" is nonsensical double speak! I've been using T-Tax since the 1990's and other than the cost of the software, I have never PAID to e-file! (nor am I a 'new member' as labeled). There is a statement that follows this step of theft which clearly states this service is without charge if the refund is sent directly to your bank. Saying I have a 'choice' to have $40 taken out of my refund OR paid with a credit card is taking an additional $40 from me. I've already paid for this when I bought the software! Advise how we remove this charge from the program! and complete the filing process!

Unfortunately, the option to recharacterize (or "undo") Roth IRA conversions was eliminated by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act starting in 2018.
Considering the value of your traditional IRAs, backdoor Roths will continue to create taxable income.
but form a positive prospective you may be paying lower taxes now than you would if you put the money into an IRA and let it grow there.
future options to avoid conversion taxes are either to make a direct Roth contribution or to an IRA for which you do not take a tax deduction. it would seem based on the IRA value a ROTH would better serve you.
When you need to start taking RMDs from the IRAs, consider Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) - a direct transfer of money from the IRA to the charity. You do not and can not touch the money. That makes the QCD portion of the distribution non-taxable but you lose out on the charitble deduction. This does have the effect of lowering AGI, which can have some beneficial tax effects. WARNING. Tax laws change like above, so if interested, inquire about the tax laws affecting QCDs in the year distributions will start. QCDs cannot come from ROTHs

I did the test of deleting the 1099-Q from Embark. My Oregon refund amount is unchanged. The 529 credit still shows on the OR-ASC form, it still has the $360 Refundable credit Code 896. And then also on OR-40 line 39. Still bamboozled by TurboTax throws the error on an Information Sheet. Seems lame. Can't understand the comment that it's Oregon's fault somehow.

Sent from whom?? The IRS/US Treasury or a third-party bank (such as if you paid fees out of refund, or another option such as "up to 5 days early" offer? We can tell you a pathway to look at a page called the Tax Return Summary to see how your refund was to be handled so you can check the entry for your deposit information.
