This site helped me: QMID Lookup 2026 | Complete IRS QMID Code List for Form 5695 | Rebate.Blue My furnace brand is just one of many brands made by the manufacturer Carrier, and by searching my brand name (Bryant), it found Carrier and showed a list of all the Carrier brands which included Bryant. (This was helpful and very reassuring, as I failed to find Bryant in other lists, not realizing it was not the manufacturer.) The QMID refers to the manufacturer, so it is the thing you want, but I was impressed that the search at the link found it by brand name.

Yes, it sounds like you need to amend.
The W-2 Box 12 Code W has all payroll contributions, from you, your employer, or both. The only place the payroll contributions should be entered is the W-2 section.
In the deduction section, this is correct that HSA contributions belong here, however you will only manually enter any contributions you personally made (not through your employer). You will only enter the amounts you directly contributed outside of paycheck withholding in the deduction section. Otherwise, it is double counting the amounts you contributed via your paycheck.
Both personal contributions and payroll contributions appear on the 5498-SA.

After filing, turbotax is telling me to "Print Required Forms" but when I click on the link, a Microsoft Word document opens with mostly blank pages and coding at the top. Is there another location where I can view the required forms and the address where I need to mail them? Is this just a copy of my tax return?

Using Turbotax 2025 Online version The following issues are since the March 6, 2026 update..... Part II, Section A, lines 17a, b, and c Answered "yes" to these questions, but Form 5695 is marking the "no" box for all three Part II, Section B, line 29h Is calculating the full amount on line 29g by 30%. EX: line 29g is $2,170 x 30% = $651 on line 29h However, the correct calculation is to cap line 29g to $2,000 and then multiply by 30% EX: line 29g actual amt. is $2,170, is to be limited to $2,000, therefore $2,000 x 30% = $600

If your W-2 Box 1 is blank or zero, TurboTax may reject this form when e-filing because it requires a positive number. To fix this, you can try entering a 1 in Box 1 of your Form W-2 in order to allow the return to be e-filed.
If your Form W-2 was imported with a 0, you can delete it and enter it manually or edit it to change Box 1 to a 1. (Make sure there are no empty spaces in Box 1 if you edit it).
If you would rather not enter $1, you will have to print and mail your tax return.
To delete a Form W-2 if you used TurboTax Online you can:
Click on "Tax Tools" in the left panel of your TurboTax screen
Select "Tools"
Click on "Delete a Form"
Scroll down the list of your forms to find your Form W2
Click on the trash can to the right of your form to delete it
To delete a Form W-2 If you used TurboTax Desktop, you can:
Click on "Forms" in the top right of your TurboTax screen to switch to "Forms Mode"
In your left panel of your TurboTax screen find Form W-2
Click on "Delete Form" at the bottom of the form
Click on "Yes" to confirm the deletion
Then go back to your W-2 entry screens and re-enter your W-2 information. You can get to the screens in TurboTax to enter your Form W-2 or to edit your existing Form W-2 as follows:
Click on "Search" in the top right of your TurboTax screen.
Type "W-2" in the search bar.
Click on the link "Jump to W-2"
Continue through your TurboTax screens to manually enter your Form W-2
Click here for How do I manually enter my W-2?
Click here for Where do I enter my 1099-R?
If you have additional information or questions regarding this, please return to Community and we would be glad to help.

There are a couple likely reasons your Child Tax Credit (CTC) didn’t show on the filed return, even though both kids “qualified” in the interview:
1) The nonrefundable CTC phases out starting at MAGI: $200,000 (single/HOH) or $400,000 (MFJ). If your MAGI is above the threshold, the credit is reduced, possibly to zero.
2) Not all of the CTC is refundable, meaning f your tax after other credits was already $0, the nonrefundable portion won’t show. The refundable part (Additional Child Tax Credit, ACTC) is up to $1,600 per child for 2025, but only if you have earned income above the threshold and meet other limits.
3) There may have been information regarding the dependents that disqualified them:
Not your dependent on the return (another parent claimed them).
Did not live with you more than half the year (exceptions apply for school/temporary absences).
No SSN/invalid SSN
4) If you had other things that reduced tax, like withholding, EIC, education credits, saver’s credit, residential energy credits, etc., your tax may have already been reduced and the CTC benefits may have been lost.
Refer to your 1040 and look at Form 8812 to see how it was calculated.

Ok, I got it that if the amount is the same then 5a can be rightfully be empty. Yes, both prior years have 1040 5b taxable amounts in them. All these conversions have been from 2 different 401K accounts to the same ROTH IRA accounts. Sorry, my response was not correctly stated.

Real property management status depends on your involvement in rental real estate activities. Spending over 750 hours on rehab work in 2025 indicates substantial participation. Key points:
1. If you spend more than 750 hours on real estate activities and they constitute a majority of your personal services, you could qualify as a real estate professional. 2. Being a real estate professional lets you treat rental real estate losses as non-passive. 3. Rehab work on a non-primary residence used as a rental or investment property may count toward this status. 4. Doing most work yourself supports active management status. Be aware that the IRS might disallow this deduction if you hold a full-time job, as you may not qualify as a real estate professional.
See IRS Pub 925 for more information.

2025 Deluxe Having same issue as described above. can't get back into the state step by step. After starting state again, it goes directly from editing the state (MN) button to 'your Minnesota Bottom Line' summary. (I have a state penalty which I'm trying to resolve with actual income and tax data) I have the updates installed to MN from 3/04/26. PS. It seems the summary Overpayment and Net don't reflect the actual refund. Penalty is subtracted twice.

My W2 Box 12W has a $$ amount, I contributed, not my employer. In the deduction section it asked for any 5498-SA, and said I should enter it there. Which I did. If I have a high deductable health care plan, I don't think I should have (said don't do if you have a cafeteria plan, which I think is the same) Is this correct? If so, do I need to file amended return and most likely owe more money? I just realized I made the same mistake on 2024 as well. Should I amend that, if so?
