W-4 questions

My husband and I got married last year. We both work, he is full-time and I am part-time. Without adjusting anything, we thankfully didn’t owe anything this year filing jointly. But, do we need to adjust our tax withholdings to prevent owing anything next year?

If so, what percentage would be best to help our tax situation?

W-4 questions

You stated that you filed jointly for 2024 without adjusting anything and did not owe any additional taxes.  The possibility that you may have a balance due next year is if you have higher income at your W-2 jobs or any other additional income, like investment income, rental income, etc. etc.. If you are not expecting additional income, you may leave your W-4 as is for another year and see how you do on your 2025 taxes.  W-4 can be updated anytime and any number of times during the year.

If things change and you do need to change W-4, you may use this W-4 Calculator 2024

Hope it helps!

Congratulations and best wishes Creci816 on getting married!
