I co-signed with my daughter when buying her home while at college. Am I able to claim homestead exemption on that house and my current home?

No, across almost all states, you can only claim a homestead exemption on the one property that you use as your primary residence. It's a fundamental requirement. You cannot claim an exemption on a second home, a rental property, a vacation home, or another property, even if you are a co-owner.

You can only have one primary residence at a time. You cannot claim a homestead exemption on a second home, a vacation home, or an investment property, even if you are a co-owner. As a co-signer, you have an ownership interest in your daughter's home. However, for you to claim a homestead exemption on that property, it would need to be your primary residence.
