Is this 2025 online premier version the worst product ever produced by INtuit since the 80's? No way to see last years data once transfered, no way to go to forms view

I have struggled for hours to populate a product that 1/2 the entries can not be made

The Online version doesn't have the Forms mode. Did you use the Desktop software before? Online has different features than the Desktop program. Some of the sections aren't ready yet like retirement 1099R should be ready Jan 21.

Online does not have a version called Premier. Online has Deluxe and a higher more expensive version called Premium. You do not have forms mode with any online TurboTax software. Forms mode is a feature of only desktop download software including desktop Deluxe, desktop Premier or desktop Home & Business.

With online, you can preview your Form 1040 and Schedules 1, 2, or 3

AFTER you pay your online fees, you have the ability to print the return before filing to review it and to see the other forms and schedules.

TurboTax has removed the Desktop editions from most partner portals, including Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, and others.
Partners now only get access to:

TurboTax Online versions (Free, Deluxe, Premier, Self‑Employed)
Occasionally a discount on Online add‑ons

But Desktop (CD/Download) is no longer included in the partner discount program for 2025.

So when you click through Fidelity, TurboTax simply doesn’t show Desktop at all — not because you’re blocked, but because the product is not part of the Fidelity offer.

This is consistent with what many users are reporting this year:

Most folks who received this perk from Fidelity, used it to draft complex returns for prep to their CPA, the online version demands interview and forces its own interpretation, not allowing full visibility of the business tax credit application, or even proper adjustment to depreciation. It is useless for doing any tax planning for future years, or doing what if scenarios. My point was this product, Premier, is the worst replacement for the desktop version as a perk from Fido. I have to buy a replacement like Drake Tax or H&R Block to do what I have been able to do for over 20 years with TT.

I downloaded the desktop version last year (feels circa 2001) and tried to go back to online this year. It was a pain to try to import my return and continue. This year's online version is worse than desktop. I typically work through the sections out of order and go back to fill in other sections as I gather my documentation. The new flow makes it hard to find sections that you've previously skipped.

Be aware, if you try to switch back to online next year - it will only partially import the data from your previous return and you will have to type it in yourself. So frustrating!

I have used TurboTax for the past t 6 years BUT this year's version is terrible. I purchased the Premier package at Costco, downloaded the SW, launched it and it defaulted to the Online version vs the traditional Desktop version. It's hard to understand how they screwed it up so badly. I will work on it again tomorrow to see if the difficulty is all operator error. My advice to a new first time user is look at other Tax SW.
