How do i get a refund for an unused purchase of a state e-file?

It depends.

 

Did you use the state forms to mail your return in?  If so, you may not be able to get a refund as the e-file is included with the purchase of the state forms, it is not in addition.

 

But you are welcome to use the following link to contact us to discuss your account.

 

Let the agent know what happened and they will be able to assist you.

In the Desktop program there IS a separate 24.99 fee to efile the state return.  If you ask nice they should refund it.
