Could be $40 if you want the Turbo Tax fees deducted from your federal refund.  Are you using the Online version or the Desktop Download?  Pay upfront with a credit card to avoid the extra charge.

There is not a a charge for e-filing.   You are looking at the "refund processing fee" of $40 ($45 in CA)  to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund instead of paying upfront BEFORE you e-file using a credit or debit card.   You do not have to do that.   Pay for TT upfront.
