Downloading turbotax deluxe

If you have a CD you do not need to download from turbotax. If you have problems with the CD you need to return it to Costco and get one that works.

I bought the CD from Costco too.  I used the download method instead.   It has more advantages over CD.  Then you can also download it another computer. Once you install the CD you can't install it again like if you need to reinstall the program or install on a different computer.

There should be a card in the CD case on on the CD envelope that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.

Go to installturbotax.com

Log into my account (or create an account)

Enter Code, it didn't look like it was formatting it right but I waited

and it put the dashes in the right places

Download showed up in my Account

I first clicked on the little blue "copy code"

Then clicked on the big Window Download button

It downloaded the exe file in the bottom left (on my Chrome) then I clicked on it to start the install

Launch TurboTax

Do Updates - took a long time but it updated

But it didn't restart.  Didn't restart last year either

So clicked on desktop icon to launch

When the Activation box came up I just did  Ctrl+V to paste the License

Code that was still in my clipboard.  It worked!
