If TurboTax says I'm eligible to claim the American Opportunity Tax Credit, should I still do it even though I'm not going back to school next semester?

I went to school during the fall semester but am not going during the spring semester and didn't get my degree. Should I still claim this tax credit?

Yes. The fact that you did not graduate or continue to next term is not relevant.

If attended classes, half time or more, in the fall term, you may be eligible. See full rules at https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/AOTC
